Very interesting!
Ha, that's a great article and a terrific photo op. It doesn't say in the article--does anyone know when they put up the marquee at the Music Box? I was last in the theater district on Saturday and I don't think I would have missed that.
I forgot they were moving and did a double take when I walked down 45th yesterday. IT's pretty funny having the marquees right next to each other.

The 2nd marquee has been up since more-or-less the day after Farnsworth closed.
Anyone know (or been in) this supposed underground passageway connecting the two theaters?
I love the Music Box as a house, but that sign makes it look like a 50's diner.
Haha, adamgreer. I've been thinking that for awhile.
It really makes more sense to load it onto a truck to drive it around the block than to walk it when moving the set?
I mean, the entrance to Imperial is west of the Music Box, but I would guess the stage is east, near parallel with the Music Box. There are no close fire exits between the theaters they can use?
I mean it depends on where the load in area of the music box is.
I think that if the load in area for the music box is in the huge truck parking area between the two theatres. Then they just might put the entier thing on one truck or two if need be and then park it in the truck loading zone. Keep in mind, that they load in and out of the Imperial from the back.
Did you read the article? The load-in area for the Imperial is on 46th, while for the Music Box it's on 45th. Presumably, some set pieces are too large or heavy to just carry next door, hence the truck driving around the block.
I read the article and I understood it (as my response indicated). I'm saying that doesn't sound logical to me. I guess if the only way in and out of the theaters for those large set pieces is a couple hundred feet away that would make more sense. For smaller stuff it would seem easier just to walk it between theaters.
It mentions the mear that is served during the play. Are they referring to the one onstage or offstage? If onstage, I didn't realize the oven, sink and dishwasher onstage were actually functioning units. Or maybe the food is prepared offstage.
Well, I'm sure they are just going to carry the smaller stuff next door. The lady at the end mentioned using this supposed passageway to move the costumes and props over. The truck is for, I gather, the very bulky set pieces that can't fit through the regular doors.
I want to know about that underground corridor that connects the two theaters. Sounds cool.

She may be confused. The Schoenfeld and The Broadhurst are connected by an underground passageway since both theatres share a boiler room.
