Well, all I have to say is "rah-rah, tip-top."

Hmm..I wonder if this person saw the same show I saw a few weeks back.
As I was marveling at the set and costumes, all I could think was "they will NEVER ever get their money back."
When a pleasant tune began to catch my ear, I smiled and then realized I liked it the 1st time I heard it...in Les Miz.
Stephanie Block was wonderful and truly engaging. Unfortunately, she picked the wrong star vehicle to make her debut as a leading actress. Yes, I know she did WICKED and THE BOY FROM OZ, but this show was all about her.
Anyway, I paid nothing to see this show and still feel ripped off!
The stepdancing is NOT fake, as FriedmanFan said.
I enjoyed the show in Chicago, and I think I paid about 10 bucks, because I went with a group. Is it the best thing ever? No. But it's certainly not as bad as the critics portrayed. I truly did enjoy it and hope to see it again this summer.

wow, a little snippy there. I don't think i came onto the board with personal and curt comments about another poster, just putting a point out there.
aparrently you don't concur with my view. Though maybe using some tact in your response instead of telling me that I abhor other peoples point of views might have been more mature.
but suit yourself.

C'mon people, it's one thing to enjoy a bad show, it's quite another to say this:
"To me, this is one of these few musicals where there is pretty much nothing wrong with it."
Did this poster actually think they wouldn't be branded as a shill?
This is what I hate about message boards, if you don't agree with everyone else people have a go at you. I never said YOU guys had to enjoy the show. I liked it though. Is it that a crime now?
It's not a crime to like the show, but it just REEKS of shill to say that "there's pretty much nothing wrong with it".
And nobody likes a shill.
Do people actually know what "shill' means?
I doubt anyone is being paid to post on this board.

Shill: (n) shil 1 : A BWW poster who demonstrates enthusiasm for or professes to have enjoyed a show that others disliked. 2: A nonsense term, like "terrorist" or "communist" used to bring discussions to a halt. 3: A sort of verbal pain reliever, used to avoid headaches that might be caused by grappling with the idea that people have varying tastes in musical theater.
It's a bit tiresome the way the term "shill" is tossed around here. There really are people who love The Pirate Queen. I might not share their reverence for the show, but I can accept their opinions without calling them names or questioning their motivations.
shill: one who "pretends" to buy, bet, etc. to lure others.
