Anne L. Nathan is amazing as well. Unless they follow the Broadway scene closely, people generally do not know who she is. She's super nice in person too.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Mary Testa. She can do anything and has that voice! The only work that showcases the lengths she can go is the gorgeous Queen of the Mist - her performance is one that seared anyone who saw it, and the final scene was one of the most moving moments ever staged in a musical.
I would say Brian d'Arcy James but I think he's finally getting the attention he deserves with Something Rotten. I do agree with Rob McClure. I've only seen him in Honeymoon and Chaplin and he's quickly become of my favorite performers.
I think Arnie Burton (of Peter and the Starcatcher and 39 Steps fame) is very underrated. I've seen a lot of his work lately and he's also terrific and hilarious.

Jackie Burns!!!
I was recently watching clips of her again in both If/then and Wicked, and she is absolutely amazing. Her singing is strong, sweet, and absolutely flawless (I absolutely loved her "Always starting over") and is a great actress as well.
Loni Ackerman. She played Evita in LA and from a vocal technique standpoint, sang the part much better (and easier) than Patti. She hit two G's in A new Argentina. The woman is insane.

Jennifer Laura Thompson! She was nominated for a Tony for Urinetown, and is just and incredibly talented actress. She has such a gorgeous voice, and her acting, imo, is phenomenal. I personally like her Glinda 10x more than Kristin Chenowth's. It's a shame that she isn't recognized as much (I know she hasn't done as much due to being a mother, which I applaud her for). I always get excited when I see her in a new project!
Jenn Gambatese is a pretty underrated actress. Her voice is a dream!
jorge - I completely agree with you about Jenn Gambatese. She is such a talented lady, and underrated.
My addition is Bryce Pinkham.

Out of my brain, you.
Bryce Pinkham has more than proven that he is a diverse actor, and he is an absolute delight to watch on stage.

Me? Clearly, you jest.
What she said, because it's true.

Kristen Beth Williams. I happened, more by accident originally, see her in almost everything she's done - mostly Ensamble roles here in NY - but she almost gets a big understudy gig and while I haven't had the chance to see her go on as the lead in those, I have heard great things about it. She was in Promises (us Marge), Anything Goes (us Reno), Nice Work (us Duchess, Eileen & Jeanie) and Pippin (us Catherine)
I did see her as Dale Tremont in the London production of Top Hat, where I just thought she was a star! She was so good in that show and got great reviews (she replaced but because they replaced all leads at the same time they had a 2nd press night and round of reviews). And it baffles me that playing a lead in London apparently doesn't mean you have better chances to get cast in a semi-big role in NY... It makes me sad and hope she'll have her big NY break soon!
