I don't know if this is unpopular but here goes.
Our Town (if ranking out of 5 stars) 4
Loved loved loved it. I loved the simplicity (that, from what I understand, has always been the main point of this show). The ending with Zoey Deutch really got me. She did wonderfully.

I'm adding Sunset BLVD
Guys and Dolls. I loved the Jerry Zaks production in the 90’s. So much so that every subsequent production has felt lackluster.
Rodgers and Hammerstein. I respect there shows more than I enjoy them. I feel no need to attend another production of Carousel or South Pacific. These days I’m more likely to listen to the albums for Rodgers and Hart shows.
I just saw Teeth unfortunately, so I will add my rating.
I guess it's good you give things a chance, but you must know your own tastes??? For myself, I can read the glowing praise from people who liked it, and still say to myself: "Nope! That's not for me."

I have seen a lot of shows I wasn't expecting to enjoy and ended up loving them, so I never know, but I wish I were like you. I really loathe spending time and money on shows I hate.
Thankfully I saw something better last night.
A few friends told me to go to The Notebook before it closes, and silly me, I listened to them instead of listening to my intuition...
Oh Tammy...new ratings added.
Saw a bunch of shows this week. Right now it looks like I probably won't be back to New York again until perhaps X-mas 2026 :(
I'm going to have to try and not follow this board so feverishly in the coming months. Here are my ratings/opinions on what I saw:
Once Upon A Mattress 3/5
Old fashioned show, slight, but performed well. Daniel Beaker carried it with his charm. Surprised that I enjoyed his performance the most.
The Outsiders 3/5
Stay Gold is a great song. My low rating is based on that I didn't like the changes they made to the story. Especially found the changed end for Dallas unsatisfying.
There was a heavy cardstock insert in the Playbill for my matinee performance welcoming 8 school groups. I sat beside a group of boys in grade 7. They were the best behaved theatre goers I encountered all week. Bravo!
Hold On To Me Darling 3/5
This 3 hour play went quickly for me. I enjoyed seeing Adam Driver live. All good performances. But the play felt very slight, taking easy shots at the world of celebrity & stardom. I didn't feel like it was about anything of great consequence.
Great Gatsby 2/5
Big flashy exciting show. But all felt rather hollow. I think I felt the same about the recent film version. There was a big group of high school students at the Thursday matinee. I don’t know if they had read the book? Their very vocal reactions to the end were the most entertaining. They all seemed very surprised at turns in the plot. It brought me back to the surprise of reading the book the first time as a teenager.
Oh Mary! 3/5
A silly burlesque. Wish it had more meat on its bones. One of the best jokes was recycled from a Leslie Nielson Naked Gun movie.
Sunset Boulevard 3/5
"It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing"
Made for an interesting companion piece to Hold On To Me Darling which covers similar themes of celebrity & stardom.
Maybe Happy Ending 4/5
Charming, with real heart. A visual marvel.
Swept Away 4/5
I wept real tears.
The Big Gay Jamboree 4/5
Silly, but had something to say. Entire cast just spectacular.
Death Becomes Her 3/5
A fun night out. Is this the funniest musical since The Producers? So many great one liners. But the songs mostly meh & the entire ensemble is completely wasted (especially after seeing how well an entire cast can be used so well & on a smaller budget at the Jamboree just before this). I thought the leotards/body suits for all the Viola VanHorn numbers were kind of hideous.
So far this season...
