Am I missing any potential or confirmed shows specifically for the 08/09 season? Since we are less than two weeks away from the new season, I was trying to wrack my brain around what's been previously mentioned, here's my tentative list:
New Shows:
A Tale of 2 Cities, Shrek, Billy Elliot, 9 to 5, Vanities, 13.
Revivals:
Godspell, Dancin', Pal Joey, West Side Story, The Wiz, An American in Paris, Brigadoon.
Have I missed anything? ( I realize that there are shows also aiming for 2010, such as Spiderman, Catch Me If You Can, etc.) Please keep responses limited to 08/09 season!

New Musicals: [title of show]
The Wiz? Seriously?
Why is the focus always on musicals?
Vanities and WIZ aren't actually confirmed. At least The Wiz revival isn't.
they were aiming for December of this year but they still haven't officially announced the 3 city pre-bway tryout (Toronto, Chicago, San Fran) that was supposed to start in September.
It might not happen after all....
for Revivals, you're missing the new Gershwin musical Connick is in and the MERRRILY WE ROLL ALONG revival.
for new musicals, you're missing STORY OF MY LIFE and SPIDERMAN and [TITLE OF SHOW]
let's also not forget the possiblity of EVER AFTER, CHILDREN OF EDEN (yes it's still possible), CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, and maybe even FIRST WIVE'S CLUB.
TooDarnHot, MERRILY isn't coming this season, it's slated for '09-'10 ... at the earliest.

I might be wrong on this but I'm pretty sure the Harry Connick Jr. show will be a "new" show a la Crazy For You. It's called Nice Work If You Can Get It and the ads for Boston call it a new Gershwin musical.
sszabo - my bad.
limelight - since when??? I thought it was making the cut off date for '08 - '09
Per Roundabout's "Chat with Stephen Sondheim" on May 6th, which I happily took part in: Todd_Haimes notes, "We hope to produce Merrily We Roll Along in 2009/2010 Broadway season. And that production will be directed by James Lapine."
Pure Country is slated for the 08/09 season

Vanities has been confirmed for a while, just shy of a theatre

thanks Limelight.
Hey, I heard CATZ! is coming back this season too.
EYEDENNUUHH is playing Macavity.
I'm sorry if I missed this elsewhere, but was there a particular reason why the London reworking of Porgy and Bess never arrived?
An American in Paris would be considered a New Musical not a revival. It was a film before now, never a stage musical, and besides, it isn't a straighforward copy of the film, per Playbill:
Ludwig set out to pen "a new American musical in its own right," he states, describing the work as a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a fictional 1950's movie entitled "An American in Paris." In Ludwig's adaptation, Parisian music-hall star Michel Gerard (Groener) fails to arrive for filming of a new Hollywood musical in which he is set to star. As filming in Paris is halted, the film's producer sends his reluctant secretary, Rebecca Klemm (Dilly), to locate the missing star.
sounds like a pretty good season...i really hope vanities does open

Whatever happened to Dancing in the Dark? I thought that was trying to come in this season too.
Looks like Vanities is confirmed for the fall.

Let's hope and pray for "The Visit" after the very favorable reviews for the Signature Theatre production, that would be something!
Last I heard the producers of The Wiz revival were going to take it out on 2 more out of town try-outs (one of which is rumored to be Chicago) before making the trek to Broadway.
None of this is confirmed though, just rumor. But I would love for The Wiz revival to stop in Chicago on the way to Broadway. I saw some video clips and the show looked AMAZING.
I heard Glory Days is coming back.
It looks like a good season.
I use this page to double check whenever I'm thinking about upcoming shows, it's EXCELLENT.
Use it!

Lake - it was a valid rumor. FIERCEY516 posted the rumor about the 3 city tryout (Toronto, Chicago, and San Fran) for this Fall, which would lead to a Broadway run.
I was at the same event where Bill Brown, the author of THE WIZ, told the audience that. He said that's what the Producers told him they were "planning" on doing. This was in early March.
Hopeful: The Visit
Wishful Thinking: Bounce (playing a run at The Public and a quick transfer to Broadway).
