^Poppins also offers discounted tickets through playbill.com and TKTS while that is rare for Newsies to do.
Also glad to see that Sister Act is doing better business in their final weeks on Broadway!

Posted: 8/13/12 at 4:31pmBring it On's attendance as down, but dollars were up, but percentage of gross doesn't seem encouraging for their extension. I speculated that the extension meant they had a good pre-sale for the fall - maybe when schools get in session and all the cheerleading teams come to see the show? But, maybe not.

Posted: 8/13/12 at 4:56pmanyone know why both The Lion King & Wicked were able to do 9 shows (again) this week. They both did 9 shows three weeks ago. is this allowed by equity??

When you think about it Bring It On is probably making a small but nice profit
1) the show has a very basic set
2) How much can it cost for cheerleading outfits
3) the entire cast is being paid minimums
4)Limited Orchestra
Remember its a tour stop, not a sit down production. Bring it On is not trying to recoup, its just trying to hit its nut. The tour is resuming come January
It should be compared to the Hair Summer of Love rather than the forthcoming Jeckyl and Hyde tour where Broadway is the final stop, and its clear that they want the run to become open ended.

Posted: 8/13/12 at 7:37pmNo but still its a contemporary show so its now Beauty and the Beast, or even H2$...meaning most if not all the shows costumes are likly machine washable and have very little wear and tear.

Posted: 8/13/12 at 7:46pmI think the gymnastics and all would cause great wear and lots of tear. stinky too.

Yes but realise unlike Newsies rags, H2$'s suits, Wicked's avant garde, Evita's commoners, Follies showgirls outfits,....
A cheerleading uniform is designed to do all the flips, lifts, and moves they do on stage with little if any wear and tear. A university may go through one set of them once every 1-4 years depeneding on whether or not they are personalized....they are POLYESTER for Pete's sake, not designed for comfort, rather for efficiency.

yes, but cheerleaders cheer once or twice a week not 8 times with 2 show days. and poly really smells.
And I'm sure they are specially made for the show not off the rack.
What a discussion.
