Remeber Ashley wasn't officially announced as Poppins till 2 or 3 weeks after it actually happened.

I'm pulling & voting for Kerry Butler to be Ariel.

I heard from somewhere that Pat Carroll was going tp be cast as the voice for the Ursula Puppet or maybe she pulled out or something

That's sad, BroadwayGuy, because I was always hopeful for her...

But like how did she do it badly? Did she belt it or somehting? I just don't want them to opt for a big Broadway belter. I want someone with a Disney voice...

Sorry, Little Mermaid is my fave disney movie and I just want it to be perfection :)

It's just not very good. You should track down the professional demo. It's pretty easily found.

I hate to break it to you all, but unless they've re-written the score, everything that wasn't in the movie is kind of awful (except for "Her Voice").

Butler just sounded squeeky and whiney on the demo..
some of the new material IS/WAS pretty.. um.. weird.

As whiney and nasal as Butler sounded on the demo, I'm ashamed to admit that I did enjoy her rendition of "Part of Your World."

i agree that kerry butler left a little to be desired and that the score was not as amazing...why two songs for the bird? but with all this talk of a flounder song there must be some changes...sherie renee scott as ursula? i dont understand...y does ursula have to play her transformed self...thats just dumb...ursula is old, fat, and has an over the top voice...her transformed self is thin, "beautiful," and has ariels voice...i hate recordings on stage so why not have ariel's understudy play the transformed ursula...theyll probably have similar voices and could avoid recordings. i just want ursula to be done the way she should...if she plays both roles...then neither role will be done right...and skating??? i dunno about that...
crossin my fingers for this one...they only get one chance to not screw it up....
