So I saw BE last night and loved it...
What am I talking about, 'Brief Encounter' or 'Billy Elliot'????
We've had the argument a few times on this board about calling shows by initials when you could just as easily shorten the title to fewer words -- or, big deal, type the 11 letters (of 'Billy Elliot', for example)!!! And here's more proof what a lame-o habit that is.
IDK, IMO abbrev. are A-OK.
I agree. Enough with the initials ALREADY! I don't even bother opening, much less reading the posts of such lazy self-absorbed people.
Just say or type the full title of the show. It seriously takes a second longer. I find abbreviations just obnoxious and flat out annoying.
I can't wait for the Broadway production of Can Hieronymus Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness?
What does ALREADY! stand for? I don't think I know that show.
They are annoying.

If I can't figure it out, I assume what they have to say really isn't that important - at least not important enough for them to care if they're fully communicating. In any event, I don't feel like I've missed anything.

I can't wait for Florence Usurps Central Kentucky to transfer.
See how mature I am?
Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is. The only time it annoys me is when someone references a show that isn't current. Then I find it near impossible to figure out. (MOLM, for example.)
I don't think it's stupid or lazy....it's just the way of the texting world.
(If you want to talk STUPID....talk about HS/College kids that put in texting abbreviations in essays. OY.)
Oh,...and the other thread about this is currently still on the first page.
See, there was *one* good thing about Spring Awakening closing prematurely in the West End. After a while, "SA" only meant Sister Act.
