Posted: 5/5/06 at 4:00pmHave you ever wanted an actor to come out of the backstage door and they didn't? Well, when I saw "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels", I met everyone except Norbert Leo Butz! The man at the backstage door said that Norbert went out the front door. I mean, there weren't alot of people backstage. There was about 10 people. I bet he had a good reason though so, I forgive him.

I'm really sorry to be that annoying person who comments on the title of the thread and this isn't meant to make you feel bad, but the title of this thread is grammatically incorrect. Disappointments are made by. You can be disappointed by actors, though.
Again, sorry to be that bitch, but bad grammar bothers me a LOT.
ETF my own dumbass spelling.

He wouldn't take a photo with me, because he had to catch a train. He polietly signed for all very fast and left. I respect him for that.
Even if he was in a hurry, it's not like he didn't want to make you have a bad time. He has a life too, as your moment was to meet him, his could have been to meet up with someone very quickly, to eat food or to catch a train home. I just wanna go home when I'm done from work, why shouldn't he.
His performance was amazing, though.

Posted: 5/5/06 at 4:13pmI understand how disappointed it can feel for someone to sneak out of the other exit (or whatever), but you just can't take it personally. There have been countless threads like this in the past.

Posted: 5/5/06 at 4:36pmYeah, I was disappointed to not at least meet him, but I imagine he went out the front to meet his wife who is doing a play across the street. I guess I couldn't be mad about that, but I was really looking forward to meet him. Considering I won't be back in NYC for sometime. Although, now that he's doing the DRS tour, maybe I'll finally get to meet him.

RentBoy86, just to clear it up for you, Michelle Federer is not Norbert's wife.

Posted: 5/5/06 at 5:07pmProbably. But 1-42 were banned for asking about Idina's home number and address.

Posted: 5/5/06 at 5:44pmAlmost every time I have been there, Norbert has come out and signed, then goes back in to leave the opposite way. He doesn't always come out but the fact he does quite often is commendable. He really is in a rush to make his train to NJ.

Posted: 5/5/06 at 7:00pmI believe the third time I saw DRS I was lucky enough to get a picture with Norb, and this was after the no picture rule. I was ecstatic, and glad it turned out well! But yeah, all 5 times I've been he has come out to sign, it's difficult for him though because when Michelle was in Wicked he'd run down to meet her after performances, and now he has to catch his train home to NJ. Also, seeing as how he's on vocal silence, maybe sometimes is throat is so strained that he just isn't able to go out, even to sign?

when i saw Sweeney I thought Patti would come out, but she didn't
i emailed her and she said she only comes out after evening performances. I love her to death and beyond but i mean would it hurt to come out a see a few fans? we aren't asking her to do a number for us.

Yeah, Patti always stays and sleeps between shows. However, I understand why she wouldnt come out because that role has to be particularly draining and being on stage the entire time doesnt help either. When she does come out, though, she is a total pleasure.

Posted: 5/5/06 at 9:33pmwell that's good to know. no and i mean i understand that role must be so tiring and then to do i twice a day! i was just annoyed because i saw it like a week after it opened so i didn't know she didn't come out. but i'm going to see it again this month so i will hopefully meet her then!

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Posted: 5/6/06 at 12:49pmStill, actors and actresses are in no way obligated to come out and sign autographs. You can't hold it against them if they do not come out as often as you or I would like. Some people are just very shy (ironic given the business but that's psycholoy)

If an actor doesn't come out of the stage door it means the actor didn't come out of the stage door.
Nothing more.
G-d. You'd think Norbert Leo Butz was the next Idina Menstrual.
#21re: Utter disappointments made by actors, not intentionally
Posted: 5/6/06 at 12:53pmNo, it means the actor hates you personally, and you should go slit your wrists, only after posting on BWW about what a bitch the actor is and crying while writing an emo song about it.

I hear Fall Out Boy is looking for a new member...
Slice?
Does that involve pouring orange soda on your wrists...

I wanted to meet Stephanie J. Block and (especially) Jenna Leigh Green when I stage doored Wicked, but my mom said we had to leave before they came out to sign stuff. :-/
I hate to use Wicked, but it's the first stage door experience I've ever had. And it was also the most recent stage door experience...*cough*
