Good to a read a straight play will be recouping, a rarity these days especially without an A-list star, sorry Ms. Weaver, I still love you! :)
Makes me wonder why they wouldn't try to extend past August 25th with running costs at only $300,000, but it seems the Golden has been booked for the fall.
Plus, David Hyde Pierce & Neilsen both have other projects lined up for the fall. Not sure about the rest of the cast, but they might have to recast the entire show if they extend into the fall.

It's better to close in the black having made profit than keep it running and potentially make a loss later on.

And I believe that the actors' performances and chemistry were just as responsible for the success of this show as the writing was. It was just a delight to see.
