Hi,

I've been searching the internet, but I haven't come across a single site that provides a view from a seat at a certain theatre. Sure, there are 'general' ones for Matilda and Lion King, but they aren't very useful as they lack any real granularity.

Is there a reason why something like this doesn't exist, or am I missing something? :)

Joe

When I bought Beautiful tickets at the Stephen Sondheim they provided "views from the seat" but as far as I can remember every time I did that, the view was the same. Better to just ask for advice, I think!

Just to be clear: I'm talking about if I was going to XYZ theatre to see ABC broadway/west end show and I was interested in buying, say, Stalls - D2.

Is there no where that can show me what the view will be from these seats?

It just seemed that this is usually the first thing I think of when buying a ticket, so it seems odd that it is a need that hasn't been met yet.

Yes, I had the same experience with the Lyceum theatre for Lion King - all were pretty identical.

Seems inefficient to go through reviews, but I guess it works!

In all honesty, that wouldn't do you a tremendous amount of good...things would be different for every show dependent on the set design.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

The only theatre that does this (that I know of) is the Gershwin. You can see your view from each seat on google maps. You can take the virtual tour through google maps and look at the stage from just about every seat. Pretty neat!

perhaps you can't get a view from the seat due to photographs not being permitted prior to curtain time?
i know that other venues [like, MSG for example] theres a website called seat geek that lets you see fans photos of the view from their seats.

i know you're not really talking about that, but most of the "view from my seat" things i find are usually of peoples photos they have taken posted on websites such as that.

I found the "view from your seat" on Telecharge reasonably accurate.
