WAR HORSE Rush

To anyone who has done the WAR HORSE rush:

If Telecharge indicates a particular date is sold out, does that mean no student rush is available? Or do they sometimes set aside some rush seats even if "sold out"?

And where does one wait on line--inside the Beaumont and down the stairs at the regular box office? Or someplace else?

Thanks!

They don't set seats aside. If they're sold out, they don't have rush. People have been saying here that there has not been rush available since previews. There is a cancellation line you can try. Because the Vivian Beaumont has so many subscribers who often just don't show up, I know a lot of people who have gotten lucky in the cancellation line. Those tickets are full price, though, so I know that doesn't help you if you're on a budget.

I don't think there have been any rush tickets for WAR HORSE yet in the run, as it's been sold out every day. Perhaps once it gets into the extension they may be available?

I saw this last night and could not have loved it more than I did. Absolutely phenomenal in every way. I'll never forget this experience. Can't say enough positive things about it. Just breathtaking.

Echoing what others have said in this thread. It's been so sold out that there have been almost no rush tickets sold whatsoever. And yes, it's a very moving piece. I defy anyone to walk away after seeing it not feeling touched in some way. I loved it.

Just wondering, what is the deal with Rush for War Hose lately? Is it still not happening because it's sold out? I'm planning to see it in early March, so, would there be a chance of any tickets being available?

Also, Someone had mentioned that Linctix made excepts for people under 21, I'm 19, is this true? Or will I really have to wait a few more years to use this tool?

I believe that the Linctix has indefinitely replaced the rush program for Lincoln Center shows. WAR HORSE continues to essentially be sold out every performance (I was at Lincoln Center a few weekends ago and there were about 40 people in the cancellation line for a Sunday matinee).

^ Although if you follow Lincoln Center Theatre on Twitter they will occasionally tweet about student rush tickets being available.

Not War Horse, obviously, but I asked at the Other Desert Cities box office last week, and they said they do, in fact, sometimes have rush available, but nothing on a consistent basis. I'd think you might have a tiny chance of being lucky enough of going to a performance that offered rush, but it's not likely. If you really want to see the show, I recommend splurging for rear mezz seats. They afford a great view and they're only about $75. Totally worth it to see this stunning show.
(PS, I totally feel you about Linctix. I'm just too young for them as well, and it really does suck.)

Major BUMP!! Now that War Horse is not as hot of a ticket as it once was, are they offering student rush on a more consistent basis? Has anyone tried recently? What seats did you get? Thanks for any info!

Just join LincTix. It's just a few dollars more and you can buy in advance.

I would, but I'm 19! You have to be 21 to join. That's why I've been waiting a bit to try to see the show, there used to be no chance at rush. But now the show has become a little less popular. Thanks for the suggestion and I will definitely join in a year and a half or so!

Lincoln Center Theater tweets and posts on Facebook when there are student rush tickets available for War Horse, but the performances they have it for are sporadic and usually in the middle of the week so if you don't live in the city I'd imagine it would be pretty difficult.

I have seen it on TKTS the past few times I've walked past there though...I don't know if that's financially an option for you, but it was at 40% off which comes out to about $75-$80.

OK, thanks. I'm thinking about trying next Wednesday, we'll see! Also saw that they now offer the last row for $50, so I may just do that
