WEST END BOUND!!! - Four Chairs and a Keyboard

Whether this will succeed commercially as a West End vehicle I'm not sure. What I am sure of is that this is a seriously fantastic show! I saw the recent George Steet Playhouse production in New Brunswick, New Jersey and it was awesome. It has ingredients that, to be honest, few musicals currently playing in West End houses possess - the music soars with melodic genius; the book and lyrics are crisp, fresh and uoproariously funny; it's highly innovative; and it has "heart" in abundance. Whoever this young producer is - full credit to him for bringing this show to London.

I really think this will never happen. Not that I don't want it to (i LOVE the show!) I think that if you look at the Press Release, there is nothing official. at all.

"expect to open the show towards the end of 2011, with the full original cast, designers and director-choreographer. However this cannot yet be confirmed."

This cannot be confirmed, so why are you sending out a press release getting our hopes up. Expect the show to open... expect?! Surely by you sending out a press release you should have something more than "expect" to say!

"There is little to announce about the show yet, but I wanted to get word out as soon as possible" Little to announce?! So why are you announcing it?! And how can he announce the cast if they aren't confirmed?

As mentioned I love this show and hope it makes it here. Even better if the great original cast are involved. BUT it struggled on Broadway, imagine how it will do here with no names, unknown writers, and an unknown title.

Not wanting to rain on anyones parade, but I'll be extremely suprised if this almost-might-confirmedbutnot production happens!

I'm a little afraid of you people who's superlatives made me think you were talking about a different show. I loved the B'way show too...but soaring melodies??? Crisp lyrics? The book is very well written, however, but probably too inside baseball for UK'ers. It was too inside baseball for non-theatre NYC folk and tourists. Its a fun show but hardly a classic.

Holbee, very sorry that my having an opinion made you "afraid" lol.

But I still think that the [title of shjow] score is far stronger than most shows currently playing in the West End - it blows me away every time I listen to the album. And the show is one of the ten best things I've seen anywhere this year.
