"Tony Award-winning Broadway veteran Chita Rivera will be honored with the Catherine Zeta-Jones Award for a Legend in Dance March 1."

Seriously? Why did Catherine Zeta-Jones get her own dance award before Chita Rivera? Why does Catherine Zeta-Jones even have her own dance award in the first place?

I'm just glad Zeta-Jones acknowledged that Velma Kelly will forever belong to Chita Rivera.

That was a nice statement from Zeta-Jones but seriously? Like Elaine Stritch would say, "where has she been?"

And Chita has been dancing since before CZJ was born.

Which is why it'd be cool if she received the award but to have the award named after her and give it to Broadway's most legendary living dancer? Pretty April 1st-ish of them.
If she gave the award to young promising dancers, that'd be a different story.

I think I read another article stating that CZJ represents Bermuda in terms of her talent and so in her honor they named an award after her/ It is to technically stay in Bermuda and represent the arts in Bermuda...with that being said they wanted to give it to CHITA who technically to them is the first and at-most to be the first to represent the award.

Ok, I think I wrote that right...me tired...sorry

I guess CZJ has some money and influence now, it's nice she's giving back to the community, even if it's in Bermuda. (How're things in Wales, Cate?)

But to me, this will always be Catherine Zeta Jones...

Becuase she has money. All that money from selling her baby's picture to the press

My friend told me of a rumor he once heard of CJZ, on how she had worked in the arts for a long time but, was still poor..came to the U.S. and sold her self for money, where she met Michael. He hired her and then she became the star and the wife of a Celebrity Royal family.

I don't know if I even want to believe it or think about it...she seems so nice and funny and down to earth, but also very full of herself too.

But good for her giving back to others.

I heard Catherine Zeta-Jones was in "Annie" on the London stage as a child when she was 11, playing the orphan "July," for whatever it's worth.

Who are we talking about? Evita Perón? Catherine gained recognition before she even met Michael. In fact, it was he who pursued her after being smitten with her in THE MASK OF ZORRO, her breakthrough film.
