Including a surprise Supporting Actor nomination for Jonathan Bailey!
Emilia Pérez also did well, scoring nominations for Ensemble, Actress (Karla Sofía Gascón), and Supporting Actress (Zoe Saldaña).
More surprise inclusions were Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis for The Last Showgirl and there were some surprising snubs, such as Sing Sing and The Brutalist missing Ensemble, Guy Pearce, Denzel Washington, or Clarence Maclin missing Supporting Actor, Angelina Jolie and Fernanda Torres missing Leading Actress, ans Margaret Qualley, Isabella Rossellini, and Felicity Jones missing Supporting Actress.

A nice representation of theatre names, from Coleman Domingo to ensembles including Norbert Leo Butz and Ethan Slater.

Interestingly enough, Norbert Leo Butz, who originated the role of Fiyero in Wicked on Broadway, is nominated as a member of the ensemble of A Complete Unknown. Meanwhile, Jonathan Bailey received a Best Film Supporting Actor nomination for playing Fiyero in the recently released film adaptation of Wicked (which is also up for Best Film Ensemble).

Jonathan Bailey is a real surprise but I’m not mad about it.
Good for Emilia Perez.

It was a really good morning for Jonathan Bailey, who got a surprise Supporting Actor SAG nomination AND Outstanding Cast nomination for ''Wicked.'' Plus, he got a third SAG nod as part of the Outstanding Cast in Drama for ''Bridgerton.''
On the same day, ''Wicked's'' Jon M. Chu missed the cut at the Directors Guild of America. They nominated instead Audiard (''Emilia Perez'' ), Baker (''Anora'' ), Berger (''Conclave'' ), Corbet (''The Brutalist'' ) and Mangold (''A Complete Unknown'' ).

On Tuesday night, Jon M. Chu accepted the prize for Best Director from the National Board of Review in NYC. He shared the story of how a boy who grew up in a Chinese restaurant saw ''Wicked'' in San Francisco in 2003, before it went to Broadway, and how he wound up directing the movie.
