WILD ROSE musical at NYTW

John Tiffany (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Black Watch) the Tony- and Olivier Award-winning director, has revealed to Deadline that his stage adaptation of the 2018 feature Wild Rose — a movie that helped propel recent Oscar winner Jessie Buckley’s early career — is to make its U.S. premiere Off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop for its fall-winter season.

I actually recently caught up with the original film on Tubi just last week. I found it pretty good overall led by such a great performance from Jessie Buckley.

I won't lie -- I get this confused with all the other musicals with a similar title... WILD ROSE, WILD ABOUT YOU, WILD, and another I'm forgetting.

I keep thinking this is that terrible Nazi musical, White Rose.

THAT'S the other one I was having trouble remembering! That was truly an awful musical...

Jessie was great in Winters Tale! 
 

im not a fan of the playwright though - I once read an interview with him and he talked about how he spends his VAST AMOUNT of his time writing even at the detriment of his relationships.  I don’t think he’s good enough. Let the Right One in was twaddle and Hurry Pitter wasn’t Worth and Peace 

 

anywho, maybe I’m just jealous this is NY bound and not UK bound (get me)
