Maybe he dropped out.

Doesn't surprise me... The role of the Caterpillar is pretty small, I was surprised he originally was announced for it.
And a question is finally answered - it will actually be a child as the 10 year-old-ish role "Chloe" will be played by a child actress as opposed to what happened in the premiere when 20-something-year-old Julie Brooks played her!

"Does anyone know why Nikki Snelson isn't playing the mad hatter?"
Snelson was wonderful in the role, but reviews seemed mixed. I like what she did - made the Hatter more funny, but they have rewritten the majority of the role, which many assume will focus less on dancing. They want the Hatter to be more sinister than the comic bills that Snelson often mastered.

The reviews of this show haven't been great.... I saw a video on youtube and it looked pretty bad. Hope it works on Broadway though. :0
Hmmm....

People need to stop judging it off "YouTube." There's clips from the Houston premiere on Youtube that are proshot, and anything else is ONE clip (truth be told, horrible direction) of a bootleg.
See the show or don't, but don't bash it without properly seeing it. IDC what you "saw," go see it next March/Spring/Summer/years if it's still open... Judge it from the live experience, not clips from the internet, or a concept album thats PURPOSELY done in the pop format.

Don't you mean ANYTHING else?
And Philly03, on which page will we find your real name in the program?

Eh philly03 --- I don't care much for your theory of youtube not being a good souce. I have seen plenty of clips of shows on there that have actually brought me INTO the show and MADE me want to see it. No so much this one.
Wonderland -- while it might be good, who knows. I have listed to the cast recording and its OK but nothing great. I liked the song "One Knight" before I saw the clip, though it was short, the chorography that I saw of that song was just bad. lol
I am not hoping it fails at all, don't get me wrong. I just am curious to see how this does on Broadway.

The "cast recording" is a concept album with the songs done in a pop format (for some of them), which don't always reflect how they sound in the show.
"One Knight" is supposed to be a spin off of one of those boy bands, thus the cheezy choreography. So seeing a pro-shot clip without audience reaction or plot points such as that would make someone not like it.
That's my point of YouTube CLIPS,... it's fine for the positive, but when you critique something when you're not there in the theatre experiencing it, you don't really have a valid argument.
