2 great songs.
I have always loved Follies.
Girls Upstairs was pretty good in London.
I loved the recent Bway production too.

Bobbybubby, what do yo uthink of "One More Kiss"? I personally don't like it and it is the one song on the entire recording that I skip.

Our community theatre did it for its 50th Season, and it was an AMAZING production...
One of my personal favorite songs IS "One More Kiss"...I didn't know many of the cast members at that time ( I do now) but both women from that song were truly gorgeous in appearance and in voice...i can specifically remember the older one came in, in a purple (a la Bernadette's purple from GYPSY) flowy sheer dress and walked in with a cane....and behind the scrim WAAAAAAAAAAY upstage was the younger one in Vegas showgirl costume...both AMAZING sopranos....I miss that production!

One of the last productions I saw had Yma Sumac (Flahooley) as the older Heidi singing it. She was great.

gah FOLLIES! its one of my favorite musicals! (read Ted Chapins book thrice) i m a fan of the whole score but think the Prlouge is amazing. I cant pick a favorite because that would be to hard.

I'd start listing all my favorite songs but I'd end up listing 3/4s of thetrack list.
but for right now, I'm especially fond of "You're gonna Love Tommorow", "Could I Leave You?" and "who's That Woman?"

Yma Sumac was part of that extraordinary Long Beach cast that included Shani Wallis, Juliet Prowse, Karen Morrow, Susan Johnston, Ed Evanko, Denise Darcel, Billy Barnes, Jackie Joseph and Dorothy Lamour.

Jackie started out in THE BILLY BARNES REVUE so it was a nice touch that she and Billy played the Whitmans ("Rain on the Roof").

Wickedfan, you might also try listening to the Follies in Concert recording from the '85. Licia Albenese and the amazing Erie Mills do a magnificent "One More Kiss." The applause afterward is deafening.

Like NYC-or-bust's, my local community theatre did a 50th Anniversary production of FOLLIES...ours was the concert version, and I played Buddy.

While I am more partial to others of Sondheim's scores, I think FOLLIES is his gem. There is not one clunker in the whole score, just glorious song after glorious song...

I agree with the comments on the Licia Albanese/Erie Mills "One More Kiss" from the Lincoln Center concert recording. Simply glorious. To me, it's the definitive version of the song. However, Carol Skarimbas' version from the 1998 Papermill recording is very very different from the Lincoln Center version, but no less stunning (except for Young Heidi going horribly flat for the last half-second of the last note). What a shame that Joan Roberts didn't get to record the song from the 2001 revival (which I thought was stunning)...also too bad that Ms. Roberts didnt have a better young lady to sing the song with. One can only imagine how the ballad would have soared had it been sung by Ms. Roberts and, say, Laura Benanti.

That's disappointing about Shani! I love her in Oliver....
Definitely agree about BOTH Papermill's and the revival's takes on this number...I loved the young Heidi who did the traditional glide in from Papermill. She is right on the money (I remember that she was really young at the time as well.) And the young Heidi in the revival ruined the song for me...

Did anyone else see Ann Miller perform "I'm Still Here" in the Paper Mill 'Follies' back in 1997? I thought she was terrific. I'm so glad they recorded that production.
