Was Duece Angela's Last

The subject says it all. Will that be the final show Angela Lansbury does on broadway?

Probably not. I mean, it can't be. I'm sure she'll make one more appearance or cameo, to say the least.

I certainly hope so. I was listening to anyone can whistle and Sweeney todd tonight and I was like kinda sad that it very well could be her last. I hope it isnt though.

Yeah, but really she wouldn't just leave Broadway without officially saying goodbye. But it is coming near to the end, which is very, very sad.

She might not want to leave, but sometimes older people don't know when is best to say goodbye. I think she really should, no way she can keep it up for much longer.

We can only wish she comes back to do "A Little Night Music", that would be the perfect swansong.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

According to this article Deuce was her last Broadway production.

Why are you all talking like as if she is too old to work anymore or that she's about to die! many actresses older than Miss Lansbury continue to work.

But the Playbill article quotes her as saying, "This is it...you have no idea what it is like to do 8 performances a week." Even if she didn't go out with a critical success(DEUCE), she seems to want to call it quits. And at least she got good reviews for her performance in DEUCE. Let her go with her dignity intact, and savor the memories.

Thats cool, its just that i found some comments on here rather creepy.

^ I wholeheartedly agree. I thought her and Seldes were just exquisite in "Deuce," and I honestly feel like anyone who passed up on the experience to see it when they had the chance was foolish. I will never, ever forget it, and I'm sure she will continue to work even if only on film.

She also said that she never really planned to do "Deuce." I remember her saying that she wanted a small part in a small show and ended up playing the lead.

Good God! She's alive and well and kicking and acting as well as ever. Let's not write her off just yet.

re: Was Duece Angela's Last

Isn't she 81? Does anyone understand how taxing it must be for a woman that age to keep up stamina to fully commit to an 8 performance-a-week run? I do believe it is her last, Night Music doesn't have Armfeldt just singing a song and going, she has 2 numbers and a substantial amount of dialogue.

She also said somewhere else that she planned on doing another show. I can't remember. Maybe not another lead. I'd love to see her play the old lady in a revival of Night Music.
