Literally, a flawless afternoon of theater. The cast was absolutely on fire from beginning to end. It was beautiful, hilarious, and more moving than ever.
Kaller and Nauffts came onstage at the end and flowers were handed out to the two of them and the actors. No speech, which made me sad. But the applause was absolutely electric. The audience ate it up and the show was sold out, which was really thrilling.
I'll miss this show so, so much. Was anyone else there? It was a great way to escape the heat, even if it was very bittersweet.
"Was anyone else at the final performance of NEXT FALL this afternoon?"
^This is why it closed.
I had the privilege of having a talk-back with Sheryl Kaller on Saturday, and she spoke about NEXT FALL, and how much it means to her, and what it did for her, professionally and artistically.
I'm excited to see what she does next!
