Everyone back together again after 30 years, us taking one last look at the Hamilton steps they walked down on - they won't be coming down those stairs again. Michael Grief's staging of the numbers been OBC and newer cast felt a bit Follies ghost esque. As did the conceptual mirror between the RENT set and the Hamilton set. Watching the OBC inhabit the character at this old age and not forgetting the past feels very Old/Young dynamics happening at the same time. Some of the emotions were so strong it reminded me of John McMartin in The Road You Didn't Take at the Sondheim birthday concert. I did find the whole thing very overwhelming. Stuff like this rarely happens and who knows when if ever, it will happen again.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

...No?

Maybe if it had happened at the Nederlander and if there hadn't already been a film, a 10-year reunion, and various other partial reunions throughout the years.

The oldest ones are also only in their mid 50s, most of the OBC has remained busy, and time has been generally kind to this group. It's not like this is a 50th anniversary of the OBC of WEST SIDE or A CHORUS LINE where some major people are dead and the original performers are struggling with the choreo and in the final ~decade of their lives.
