Is it true she dropped the "I'm older than I ever intended to be" line? That would be a shame, it's such a great character statement for Roxy.

Perhaps I'm alone on this one...but I don't think the Billy Flynn role is that "special". Sure, he needs to be a charismatic crook and with a decent voice. But his part interests me as much as the Amos part. I love the show, but the girls are the show stoppers to me.

Mr George was boring as hell.... and you could TELL he was acting. He wasn't suave or sleezy or anything but bad, really (even though, I have to agree with NBC, he DID get better as his run went along).... He was just George Hamilton, in all his orange tanned glory, being told what to say. Blah lol

My only question is - Did EVERYBODY else say no?? How many people turned this down before they dug to the bottom of the barrel to get Wayne Brady?? Am I the only one who finds him more than a tad annoying?

Wow, we are a vicious group when it comes to casting lol I just now realized this... now I know why a friend of mine refused to go out for the role of Billy when a friend in the cast was trying to convince him. We're mean! lol

OK here is the problem. Wayne's speciality is improv. That is his fan base from Whose Line. Not DOING improv will not impress that fan base and if he DOES try to improvise during the show well I'm not sure thats what the show is about.

Who knows how he'll do. I don't think he'll be right for the role. My personal opinion is that he does not have "what it takes". I hope he proves me wrong. I doubt he will.

DP~ Well, we could do a search, but I'll tell ya. Brady is a young black TV varietyshow host, also a regular on "Who's Line Is It Anyway?". Pleasant looking, toothy smile. Not a bad singer.
I've never seen his show... but again, I think Billy Flynn is one of those easily replacable roles and the casting directors just pick from a hat these day for Billys'.
