"To be able to request a front row center seat on a Sunday (which I did last week), I would say 10:30. I was the 4th person in line when I did that."
That was my exact situation and I got there 10:30 and got front row center. Regarding how long you need to get there before show time, really it depends on the day. Sometime there's a chance you can get them last minute, sometimes now.
And mistress, I wouldn't think they'd sell you a student rush at full price. Even though they could get more money for it, those seats are specifically reserved for student rush, and wouldn't be fair to the people who want student rush. The show doesn't sell out so I'm sure you can find a good seat in the orchestra.
And the partial view up front isn't bad you just don't see some of their feet if they're further back towards the stage. And you miss Steve Lynch on the bed in one scene. Honestly, it didn't take away from the show and I couldn't have asked for a better deal.
