I am so sad!! I have to see it at least once or twice again before it closes!

Hate to say I told you so, but....
At least I got to see it....4 times.
Can't say I'm surprised - I was expecting to come on here and see a closing notice basically every day in September.
I'm glad that its managed to stick around so long though. By the time it closes, it'll have had a fantastic 9 month run. And I am glad we have a closing notice so far in advance - that gives people plenty of time to see it again within the next two months!
I'm not surprised, but this is still sad.

Can't say I didn't see it coming, but it's disappointing all the same. I'm glad I got the chance to see it before it closes. I may be in the city for new year's this year. Hmmm.
*is contemplating going*

ashley, you should come to the matinee on December 29th :)
I liked it and am also sad to see it close. Let's find Stephen Lynch a new job.

Nobody should be surprised.
But, on a lighter note, YAY CURTAINS!
New Years Eve... kinda appropriate. The cast has an extra excuse to get ragingly drunk. :P
Honestly, I've been expecting this for a while. Doesn't surprise me at all. A little sad... but I'm not devastated. Gives me something to do with my New Years. :P
any word if Constantine will stay with it till the end or not?
------------------
He has SAID a few times that he is staying until the end (and yes, it is in Matthew's contract that he gets to do the last show), but there has been no official word from TPTB on whether Con will remain past November 5 or not. I guess we will know in another week or two.
Sad that it is closing, though. At least I got to go see it last week..thank goodness!
Cannot wait for the next effort from TWS creative team
Hopefully, they will not shy away as many whose first effort was not critically appreciated. The composers of The Yearling come to mind. What a shame they never wrote another show
No word from the Constantine camp, yet. Last week, Playbill talked about him going into Jacques Brel after the first of the year. His publicist said that was not true and they were talking with the director. Now I wonder if they were waiting for this shoe to drop before announcing anything else.
I am a fan of Constantine. That fact aside, I think he did pretty good as Sammy.
I don't think he can be blamed for the demise of this show. It was already in trouble when he came on board. It was always only a matter of time.
How it is for sure that Matt Saldivar would come back for the last show? Just because it is in his contract does not mean he has to come back. I guess it's a waiting game now.

yeah well, it would very cool if Constantine stayed with the show! then my sister could meet him! (yeah, she's in love with him)
but im suprised the producers just didnt go on for another week, and decide to close January 7th. they were selling tickets up till that date, so it wouldve made sense to carry it around another week, then they wouldnt have to refund the money.
yeah

So.
If I'm going to New York in December, and I have two open show slots where I was going to see Drowsy Chaperone and The Apple Tree... I should still go see those, right? I won't be back until July or so.
It (seeing TWS) is not worth staying an extra day, right?

See Wedding Singer instead of Drowsy.
Honestly, I had no intention of seeing TWS during my New York trip...until now. Now it's going, I want to see it. So much that I am already at the telecharge page :p
I'm still torn, though. But swaying. It'll be at the expense of High Fidelity as I am running out of free days, so hmm.
Although this is sad for many of you, think of the positive. Open theatre for new show!
Skip Drowsy and see Wedding Singer.

id also skip DROWSY for WEDDING SINGER
DROWSY will probably still be around for the next year or so

No, The Wedding Singer is not worth an extra day.
I'm quite excited to know that Curtains will possibly open this season. I'm interested to see what changes have been made to the book and the score. Hopefully the cast will remain intact.

Eh? You think so? I am not so sure...
^ditto.
I'd see Drowsy over TWS anyday, but that's just me.
