Weird Broadway Dreams...... — Page 2

I've had many different Broadway dreams. One of the most memorable was one dream where I was playing Glinda in Wicked (which is awkward ... I'm a male - and African-American ...). Anyway, the dream took place during "Defying Gravity" and Elphaba was being played by singer Brandy (I have nooooo clue where that came from). Well, it seemed as though Brandy could not actually sing, so apparently they turned down her mic and had Shoshana Bean singing offstage. I got extremely mad at this and walk right offstage and exited out of the front of the Gershwin. That was a very strange dream.

Just last night, I had a dream that Lippa's The Wild Party was being made into a movie and I was an extra. It wasn't strange ... actually it was amazing. But .... yeaaaah.

I wouldn’t post this except for that I just had this dream a few nights ago and now this thread is on the front page, so I feel it’s kismet that I should post it.

Recently I had a dream that The San Francisco Opera Company was the first Opera Company to perform The Phantom of the Opera. I had gotten cheap 5 dollar seats for the back row an hour before the show then snuck down to the third row and watched the show. It was a very straight forward dream I just watched the show from beginning to end, but because it was an Opera Company the whole show was more elaborate with a lot of multiple level sets. Unfortunately I woke up just before the end, Roul was rushing down into the Phantoms lair and I woke up.

When I was younger and just getting into performance, I was obsessed with Les Miserables - namely the role of Javert. I really wanted to play it someday though I was only 9-years-old at the time.

As a result, I had this recurring dream that involved an over-the-top vision of Philip Quast pulling his eyes out of their sockets and handing them to me on a platter.

In the dream this was completely normal. I wasn't taken aback in the least. He was passing his talents on to me via his eyes and I was humbled by this.

I think there may have been an odd sexual aspect to the whole thing as well but we don't need to get into that. lol.

Rest assured, I'm relatively well-adjusted in my adulthood.

I had a dream one time that I was conducting Phantom, but for some reason I didn't have a score in front of me - Awkward!!!

I did pretty well for the most part, but by the time we got to notes (which swithces from 15/16 to a standard 4/4 to a few bars of 5/4 mixed in the middle it was a hot mess, and I got fired.

I guess if I get to do that show, I should make sure I bring my score at all times! LOL

One evening, I dreamed that I was in the theatre in the seats sections. I was late for my entrance all the way down on stage, and the show stopped, waiting...froze really, waiting for me to get to where I was supposed to be. I kept trying to get through the line of people waiting at the bar for beer, and just couldn't get through no matter how hard I tried!

I now realize that it was soon after I stopped drinking for good! Talk about obvious, yet hidden meanings, lol!

Dreams that I have sometimes are not about broadway shows per say.. but they turn into Broadway Musicals. I sing and dance and carry on and famous people join in. It is crazy.

I had a dream I was in Hairspray. There were me and 4 of the people in my theater troupe on a rediculously small stage. I went on and didn't know anything and started flipping out. I was Amber, but then somewhere along became Tracy.

Weird.

I thought there was another thread about this topic, which was posted in more recently? I couldn't find it, but I found this one.

Anyway, I actually really liked last night's dream. I was sitting in the front row at Spamalot with someone I have spoken to online, but never have met personally. It was after the show and I was trying to see if I could put my feet on the stage from that distance, like I knew I could without trying at the Helen Hayes theatre. Sara Ramirez came out and was not mean at all. She was actually excited to see me, and said something about wanting to see me afterwards. And she kicked me softly in the knee. Of course, that excited me, and I know it shouldn't.

I don't think I met her after the show, but I can't remember because it cut to my house, where Sara was again. She was acting like my best friend, and apparently she got engaged to some random guy. Then we were talking about weddings, and what I want at mine.

Ok this isnt exactly broadway related... but still... i appologize in advance for the rambling

So i was getting a drive in a car from someone and decided i would get out and walk, so i was at this four way stop and who should be driving their bike all Ms. Gulch style but Miss Idina Menzel so me being the creepy fan decides i am going to start running after her and calling her name, after about three "Idinas" she turns around and pulls her bike over to where i am. Now dont get me wrong i think Idina is great and all but i am not one of those insane screaming fans haha so anyway i start to bawl and tell her how much she has changed my life and how true to herself and her music she is?? and i actually did see her in concert and November and in my dream i had my ticket in my purse so i am looking for it to gte her to sign it and as i am bent down someone peaks over my shoulder and it was Taye Diggs... i congratualted them on the baby, couldnt find my ticket so got them to sign a receipt for the Judy Garland bio i just bought (didnt actually buy one). Very strange.

Oh and another one I was at this huge star studded event and normally i dont like alcohol but becasue there were so many stars there i thought if i drank a little i would be more comfortable.... so for some reason i was drinking ice wine with Sara Ramirez and then i took my seat next to Kristin Chenoweth and we were talking, then Renée Zellweger who was hosting this event offered to buy everyone in the place 5 drinks... so Kristin and I shot our hands in the air saying we wanted some.... again such a random dream and now dont get me wrong i really like Idina and Kristin but havent really been thinking about them much at all lately so i thought it was funnny i had these dreams about them!

Not exactly a dream, but I was in the hospital a few months ago after a head injury and every single doctor, nurse, whatever looked like someone on Broadway. The doctor who did my stitches had to have been Michael Berresse's twin brother.

I have had several dreams involving being in a show preparing for opening night, and not knowing several songs or most of the blocking...
I also dreamt that I forgot that I had tickets to Cry Baby on Broadway (when I actually did, two weeks after it closed, in real life), and missed the show. I was pissed in my dream.
Also, not too long ago, I dreamt that I got to the Imperial Theatre to see Billy Elliot about 10 minutes late, while Shine was hapenning. Now, the theatre was built much like the Circle in the Square, but with two levels, if anyone knows what I mean, though that's obviously not how the theatre is actually built. I was on the right side, and down the row from me was Jimmy Fallon. At intermission, he offered me a job on his new talk show. Then, at intermission, I left for some reason and was again late for the 2nd act. I was angry that I had missed so much of Billy Elliot. Then, I woke up and realized that I would be able to see the whole thing in real life, and was very happy, haha.

I've only had one dream about Broadway in my entire life. When I was 12, I was an obnoxious Wicked fan (I've since changed. I still love Rent though, and I'm darn proud of it). I wanted Wicked to come to my town SO badly (it still hasn't come yet) and I used to just obsess over the thought of WIcked being a show in my city's local Broadway series. I had a dream that it came. I was SO SO SO SO SO excited. It was a pointless dream. In the dream, I sat in the balcony... my parents hated it and my mom made us all leave at intermission so we could get a slice of cheesecake. I was extremely pissed in the dream, and when I woke up... I stilled felt pissed.

I have had Broadway 'fantasies' (for lack of a better term). My latest one is that I went to NYC to see Hair, and when I went on stage and sang with the cast... Gavin Creel was amazed with my voice and at the stage door he talked to me about how great I sang. I then told him that I want to be a Broadway composer, so he gave me Lin-Manuel Miranda's phone number. I called Lin-Manuel up, went over to his apartment and we decided to write a Broadway bound musical.
