Ok, I haven't ordered from them before, but I've recieved an e-mail saying that my "Drowsy" LP is on the way (Which is early, since I thought it was due on the 14th), but they haven't charged me...is this normal for them?

How long ago did you get the email? If I'm not mistaken, you aren't charged until the item leaves the office... maybe the email was to alert you that it will ship very shortly? And them sending things out early is the norm. 2 weeks early is even a bit late for them. :-P
They have a rep that posts here that will undoubtedly help you out. Zan is awesome, and works for an incredible company.
Got the same message yesterday.
It's typical with them they send early all the time.
Zan is great!
Woo hoo! Me too! I checked the track and confirm and it looks like they've notified the postal carrier that they have pacakges ready to be shipped. So sometime later today the records will actually leave their office. Can't wait for my Drowsy Chaperone LP!
They charge when they ship, I believe. I'd guess the e-mail means it's ready to ship or something like that, and will be out very shortly.
Charges do not appear instantly. It can take up to 3 days after you've been charged for it to show up on your 'new activity' log, etc. It will be dated the same day it was charged, but it takes days to appear on your account.
my e-mail said that it was shipped to me. via USPS too which I thought was odd. if I had the choice I would have opted to ship a rare 50 dollar LP through UPS. was that option available? I don't remember...
Hey everyone, I am shipping them out as fast as I can. If you got an email saying that it's been sent then the charge has been put through on our end, and should show up in the next day or two.
Thet are all being shipped USPS, unless you chose to pay for overnight delivery. They are all being securely packaged and marked as fragile.
alright, i'm stupid.. what is drowsy LP.. ?
i get the drowsy chaperone part but what's the LP?
thanks, don't make fun of me =P
Speaking of them, when is the HiFi cast recording supposed to be released?
Dramaqueen,
An LP is a vinyl album. The LP stands for Long Playing. 45's were vinyl records that just had 2 songs on them. An LP is an entire album.
thanks uncageg! =)
hmm, sounds fun.. i should get me one of those! i do have record player after all!
lol I have approx. 600 vinyl albums so I need a record player!

Does anyone know if the vinyl albums the cast signed (on the broadway.com video) are for sale? if so, where? thanks
I got my LP today in the mail. I'm having the hardest time putting the LP back into the cover the way that it was. Air gets trapped inside and it won't close like it was at first. Seriously, wtf? Otherwise it’s awesome.

I would also very much like to know. I may or may not check sh-k-boom.com every day to see if it has been put up yet.
hifi will be coming out in the spring...not sure exactly when yet.
Yay! Just wanted to say that I got my Drowsy record and I love it! I even bought a turntable so I could play it....well, I have other records I have been wanting to listen to, I didn't buy the player just because of this one record. My friends said I shouldn't play it because it a collectors item, but I hate buying things that I can't enjoy. I'll take care of it, but I'm not keeping it sealed in the plastic forever!
PS This may be a stupid question but did they re-record parts just for this album, because they've included some dialogue that I don't remeber being on the CD.

Mine still isnt here...stupid area to live in.
Mine took longer than I thought it would. I got an email on Tuesday that it was ready to be shipped and it took two days to get all the way from Manhattan to Brooklyn. I say blame USPS.
courtnyj, they did say the LP would have extra dialogue. they did not say if the cast went back into the studio to record it or if it had been recorded initially and left off the CD release. probably the later.

Someday, there will be a revival of The Drowsy Chaperone, reconceptualized for future audiences, and the "hot collector's item" will be a CD of The Drowsy Chaperone.
(Seriously though, this LP has to be one of the best marketing/merchandising items to come along in awhile.)
