Weissler Stories

Sometime ago there was a thread here about the Weisslers, pennypinching, casting choices, beginnings and such which made fascinating reading. Just wondering if any of the Broadwayworlders have anymore?

OT: You know, the Weissler's minus the sler's (Weis) is the name of my french teacher. I refer to her as the Weisinator...

I happen to respect them, a lot. I've talked to people who have worked for them, and I get many different stories.

And you gotta love the stories about how they burned their stars (Bebe Neuwirth, Ute Lempter etc)

Does e actually contribute anything to their shows, or is she there in name only?

First preview of Wonderful Town, Barry came up to me and introduced himself and told me that if I had any criticisms of the show or thoughts about anything to feel free to tell him at any point. He was very gracious, sincere, and respectful everytime I saw him over the course of that year.

One show, I sat in the last row to watch the second act (an usher has to be inside during the performance). There was no one near me but Fran a few seats over. She moved to the seat next to me and whispered thoughts and asked me questions the rest of the act. She was always nice every time I saw her.

I'll never forget all throughout grade school being warned by kids a year ahead of me to beware my next teacher who was soooooo mean. Funny--they were never mean to me...
