I <3 Adam as the Emcee. I wish I could've seen him live... uh, ever.

yea the NYTW Roger sounds really feminine and wimpy to me. Its funny to think how different all the Rogers to follow would have been had Adam not been the first.

Shari Lewis: Did you ever wish upon a star?
Lamb Chop: I once asked Mr. Rogers for his autograph.

Some of the songs make me giggle though, and I don't think they're supposed to.
I giggle when I listen to 'Do a Little Business'. Always.

"Who's on top? Who wears the pants?" has got to be one of my favorite lines.

I just went back and read the NYTW Goodbye Love lyrics...and I am SO glad it turned out the way it did.

The reversal they made with the Mark and Roger stuff flipped everything on its head. I'm not sure which I like better, though.

My favorite line from the NYTW: "I'll never have that kind of zeal and my expose will soon reveal!"... just because the way Anthony sings reveal cracks me up. I love the song "Real Estate." I should go listen to that version of Goodbye Love again.

I don't know which I like better.
In the NYTW I like how it's not really a fight, and you can see that they really care about each other. And, Mark knows his own faults.
In Rent, I love how it is a fight, and it shows that they're frustrated with each other.
I really do like both of them. *shrug*

I like how the final version shows the strength of their friendship. They can call each other out on their crap, fight, let it absorb, and move on.

It does a lot more to show that Mark is really TAKING CARE of Roger.

To catch up:
I'm living in CA, so it was 6:30 am when I went to bed (sleep tight, the milkman's on his way). I had a final to study for . . . which I put off for too long.
I really liked Benny's phone calls in the NYTW verion. "The checkbook, Allison".
Mandi, you write very well. I'd join one of those things if I weren't so dang busy.
Gertrude, you can google it. I've come up with some pretty good results. I believe look around has some very good pictures. http://free.hostultra.com/~cleverthusfar/gallery/theatre.html
Ugh, I'm so tired. But I can never sleep in the middle of the day. I think I need some Broadway Men pictures to console me. Anyone?

"`I grow old... I grow old... I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.` What does that mean, Mr. Marlowe?"
"Not a bloody thing. It just sounds good."
He smiled. "That is from the `Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.` Here's another one. `In the room women come and go/Talking of Michael Angelo.' Does that suggest anything to you, sir?"
"Yeah -- it suggests to me that the guy didn't know very much about women."
"My sentiments exactly, sir. Nonetheless I admire T. S. Eliot very much."
"Did you say, 'nonetheless'?"

I actually said "mmmm" out loud when I saw that pic. Thanks.
Too bad my friends don't realize the extreme sexiness of Broadway Men.
I love naps. I just can't ever fall asleep to take them.

LOVE that picture, Emcee.
Speaking of the Rent NYTW... how great would it be if they incorporated a few of the songs into the big 10th anniversary show? Adam NEEDS to sing Open Road. And I think Taye should totally do Do A Little Business. "Evita's an Akita" *silence* "Ha ha ha ha ha"

I can ONLY nap if it's dark. So I have to close my shades and trick myself into thinking that it's night.
I want Adam to sing Open Road SO BADLY.
That's one of my favorite pictures ever.

I look at the pictures from Standing Ovations of Adam and Anthony and go... did they steal their clothes from the Rent set? "It's Roger and Mark!"

My dang apartment has really bright lights right outside of my window. So even with the blinds closed and a tablecloth over it, it's still too bright. Someday, I'll move. When I get money/find a roommate I don't hate.
