Life is filled with choices. If you don't want to see it......then don't. Plain and simple.
Anyone who would prefer to stay home and watch the movie should indeed do so -- leaving the good seats for those of us who prefer live theatre.
"same old choreography" ..... the mind boggles. Sounds like someone who would hear Beethoven's Ninth and bitch about the "same old orchestrations".

do you post anything on this board that isn't negative?
It's Arthur's Jet boy and Jet girl DIALOGUE that need revamping. To wit:

The original West Side Story was a labor of love. Do your research and see what the original cast and creative team went through to create this masterpiece. I believe certain shows are worthy of a land mark status to preserve them. West Side Story is definately one of those shows. If it is not broke do not fix it! There is a whole generation of people who have never seen this show live. So, it should not be changed. Especially considering the greatness of the original creative team. People are to quick to want to throw out the old things that should be treasured. With the state of the new shows being created today we need as much old standards as we can get on Broadway! That era of musical theatre history is not called "The Golden Age" for nothing.

Oh, dear, just the kind of predictably witty response I'd expect from you, chance.

I have no problems with using the amazing orgininal choreography. I look forward to seeing it come alive. It adds to the challenge to make the story and production relevant and for today's audience.
Can't wait to finally hear the casting!!!

I'm all for the original choreography. It's amazing and it suits the music really well.
Why do people insist on saying that if we liked the "revamped" South Pacific we should "revamp" everything? Did South Pacific have anything that needed to be preserved along the lines of choreography?
Jerome Robbins was an artist and a genius. His dancing tells us just as much as any dialogue or lyrics Arthur Laurents and Stephen Sondheim wrote. I consider it part of the script.
