Westboro Baptist Church To Picket Julliard On Thursday Morning

http://www.playbill.com/article/westboro-baptist-church-to-picket-juilliard-thursday-morning This is happening from 8 am-9am on Thursday morning. Plans are being made for a counter protest.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

They have less than 30 members in their congregation. Of course they are attention seekers.

I wish a Great Comet would rain down on wherever their headquarters with all their members congregated inside and reduce them to Dust and Ashes. (of course, God will be fair and the fire will not go beyond a 1 cm radius, so that no innocents have to die)

Well, that's not true. And protests are about attention, what's the point, otherwise?

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I'm cracking up at this. Their statements don't even consist of whole sentences. Why so much talk of "destruction?"

I guess they would have arrested David for playing his harp and being vain...

There is no rhyme or reason to these people. No point in trying to understand why they do anything. My niece attends a Summer Camp for Lgbtq youth and family members, and they have to keep the location secret and move every year, just to avoid these asshats. They're best ignored.

Do you think they have access to Playbill's page views stats?

I honestly wonder how they decide where they are going to go and why. Then again, I probably don't want to know what motivates them or how they live away from these protests.

I just love how church is in quotation marks when talking about the hate group.

I honestly wonder how they decide where they are going to go and why.

Whatever they feel may give them exposure in the media. They seek out either high-profile organizations/locations or highly controversial figures/subjects. For them, it's not about the cause, but rather, the effect. They are opportunists who most likely really only do it for money in the form of contributions from other whackadoodles. Articles on their protests provide for free marketing they can use in soliciting contributions from their established donors or in luring in new crazy ignorant individuals and organizations. Even when interviewed, their respond strategically by only repeating scripted rhetoric for microphones and cameras, regardless of relevance to the question. And this tactic is clearly indoctrinated throughout the family starting at a very young age.
