Seussical. No question. That show's run was ruined by all the bad word of mouth and the internet gossip.

Little Women. It was the most enjoyable night at the theatre I've ever had (though, admittedly, I haven't had that many to begin with). It had a great story (I had never read the book or seen the movie(s)), a perfectly-casted company (with the possible exception of Danny Gurwin), decent songs, and lovely costumes (I'll never forget Jo's costume during "The Most Amazing Thing"). I'm sooooooo bummed that it closed as many of my friends were planning to see it this summer.

*sigh*

I'll shut up now.

I don't know if it could be considered a flop, but I'd love to see Yeston/Kopit's Phantom come back

What mistakes happened in Caroline or Change that made it a flop?

Question: Will Esparza win for The Homecoming? BobbyBubby: I hope so. If only for the mental health of many people on this board.

Is Chess considered a flop? If so, then Chess. If not, then let me ponder some more...

"Caroline, or Change" just couldn't find an audience on Broadway, unfortunately.

PARADE

And althought it sorta was not a flop - RAGTIME!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Not sure I can come up with five, but definitely Mack & Mabel,
Dance of the Vampires, and Seussical. Ummm, have to think about others.

LITTLE WOMEN!!!!!!!!
I totally agree the cast (ie Sutton and Maureen McGovern as well as the rest) were so talented and the book (musical) was brilliant. it was the first live show to ever make me cry.
