I already have tickets for Spring Awakening next Friday but I may want to see a play on Saturday. Journey's End was recommended to me already, but does anyone have other suggestions? Also has anyone seen Talk Radio? I loved Liev in GGR.

JOURNEY'S END is thrilling, profound theatre. You might also enjoy PRELUDE TO A KISS--which is less intense.

Although Liev gives a powerhouse performance in TALK RADIO, it's just not a great play.

TALK RADIO is very good, as is INHERIT THE WIND, but nothing on or off Broadway right now can touch JOURNEY'S END.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

My parents recently saw Talk Radio, and they are extremely picky about plays. They adored it. I would also suggest Inherit the Wind. I love that play and have heard that this production is fantastic.

I also love INHERIT THE WIND. Great play, and very "now", believe it or not!

This month these are the plays I have seen:
SPALDING GREY: STORIES LEFT TO TELL
SOME MEN
SEALED FOR FRESHNESS
PRELUDE TO A KISS
25 QUESTIONS FOR A JEWISH MOTHER (which is closed already, but i did see it so it goes on the list :))

And so out of that list I would recommend SPALDING GREY, followed by SOME MEN. I was lukewarm about PRELUDE TO A KISS, but I really did not like SEALED FOR FRESHNESS- completely skipable.

But I can't wait to see FROST/NIXON- everyone I know who saw it in London *raved* about it, it's next on my list.

The best play on Broadway right now (and yes, i've seen all of them) is, by far, INHERIT THE WIND. Brilliant.

I know you say it was already suggested, but I have to implore you once again to go see JOURNEY'S END along with some others on here. Are you getting the picture yet?

Journey's End, great seats are available for all performances and the show is the best thing I have ever seen in the theatre for years!

I can't recommend this show enough - it's an AMAZING production and sadly won't hang out for much longer.

Didn't Sealed for Freshness close last night anyway?

I am hearing "Journey's End" is the play to see. And according to one of the actor's website, it may close soon. I hope not because a graduate, John Behlmann, from last year's National Theatre Conservatory's graduating class is in it. I saw him here in Denver in his final show and he is very good.

Thanks so much for all your help. It really depends on family commitments, but I think I can squeeze in Journey's End. A trusted friend said I must see it!
