Matty159, I pity you (and share your pain) for having seen Annie 2--Miss Hannigan's revenge. I recall it as the worst show I have ever seen. So glad it didn't make it to Broadway....
Annie 20th (before Joanna Pacitti was fired)
Will be seeing West Side Story in December.
Didn't you JUST ask if there was going to be a revival?
Macbeth
Next To Normal
Other people seem to be assuming Next To Normal will transfer, I sure hope it does.
Dracula in La Jolla. I liked it. I thought they made too many changes for Broadway most of them not for the better. It was a completely different show

Next to Normal :)
that's it for now! haha
Queen of the Night, thank you for the comisseration! It was one of the biggest hot messes I have ever seen on a stage.
Let's hope DC can turn its bad stretch (well, we have yet to see with Glory Days) around with WSS, The Visit, and N2N as they travel to Broadway!
Three that stick out in my head are the pre- Broadway tryouts of the Little Shop revival, Urban Cowboy, and Times They Are A- Changin'. Also saw the regional try- out of 'Men', before it moved to New York, added Marc Kudisch, and became 'The Thing About Men'.
This brought back a lot of memories.
Thoroughly Modern Millie
Wicked
Lestat
Dracula
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
A Catered Affair
Lennon
La Boheme
Mambo Kings (it was suppose to go)
Flower Drum Song (revival)
Curtains
I'm sure I've seen others, but these are the ones I can remember.
Pirate Queen in Chicago
I feel horrible that The Pirate Queen is the only Pre-Broadway run I have soon. But when tickets go on sale for the out-of-town run for Tommy Tune's new show at The Goodman I will definitely be going there to see it.
Lake, is that listed on the Broadwayinchicago.com website? Or do you know for a fact its coming?

The show is called GYPSY and it stars Patti LuPone, folks.
GYPSY (with LuPone) at Encores!
MAMMA MIA! in London.
MARY POPPINS in London.
I feel like there are more off-to-on transfers than I'm thinking of.
BIC does not own The Goodman, so it is not on their site. Tommy Tune's new Musical Turn Of The Century starts performances on Sept 19th. Tickets are not on sale yet.
I saw Mamma Mia! in London a good year before it came to the States.
While I've never seen anything in London I don't know if I would count West End runs as "pre-Broadway". To me the West End is on the same level as Broadway and is different than an out of town tryout in DC, Denver, Chicago, etc.
The only "pre-Broadway" show I've seen was Tale of Two Cities in Sarasota, Florida this past October. I wish I could say I've seen more but this isn't a very popular destination for an out of town tryout. Though I'd love to hear an announcement about a show opening at Kelsey Theatre for one! :)
Drowsy Chaperone in LA
9 to 5 in LA (will see it in September 200
Big the Musical (Detroit)
You're A Good Man Charlie Brown Revival (Detroit)
Ragtime (Toronto)
Aida (Chicago)
Pirate Queen (Chicago)
And since I have Ahmanson season tickets this year, I'll be seeing 9 to 5 and The Night They Raided Minsky's
I remember liking all of them, but almost all of my admiration for Pirate Queen came from Stephanie J. Block's performance. I have a window card of Big from the tryout in Detroit... I wonder what that would catch on Ebay...
