What Sondheim show WOULD you like to see revived?

srs topics deserve srs threads.

I personally would love to see A Little Night Music and Passion revived. though I'm not sure of casts for either one.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

He's a faker, and you've been taken in by his con. And in doing so, you are enabling him. He is doing more damage to aspergers than papa's words ever could. -Chane/Liverpool on me having asperger syndrome.

oo, yes, I agree with Anyone Can Whistle and Merrily. I've listened to both, and can follow ACW MUCH better than I can Merrily.

I know next to nothing about Saturday Night, but I guess that should be reason enough for me to want it on Broadway.

Truth be told, I don't like SATURDAY.

And the only thing I like about MERRILY is the score.

ANYONE CAN WHISTLE has always been 50/50, as well. I don't think ANYONE CAN WHISTLE can ever be a successful musical.

A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, the fact that it hasn't been revived is ridiculous.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Follies (with Donna Murphy and Victoria Clark, please)

Sweeney (original staging or some variant, with Bernadette Peters)

A Little Night Music (with Angela Lansbury)

Assassins - I didn't see the 2004 "revival," would really like to see a professional production

Into the Woods - anything would be better than the last revival!

Passion

Oh so am I. I'd much rather see the Roundabout's version. I basically meant that I'd like to see any version of it come to Broadway. And since Doyle's is the only one that has happened so far, I thought if it were good, it could transfer.

A Little Night Music, for damn sure.

How about A Little Night Music with Angela Lansbury (as Madame) and Christine Ebersole as Desiree?

I want a great FOLLIES production that keeps Kathleen Marshall 50 miles away from the theatre, starring Victoria Clark and Donna Murphy.
I also want Encores! to do ANYONE CAN WHISTLE with Meryl Streep as Cora, Jane Krakowski as Nurse Apple, and Neil Patrick Harris as Hoover.
After all that, PASSION with Laura Benanti as Clara (though apparently her dream role is Fosca).
