I want a great FOLLIES production that keeps Kathleen Marshall 50 miles away from the theatre, starring Victoria Clark and Donna Murphy.
I also want Encores! to do ANYONE CAN WHISTLE with Meryl Streep as Cora, Jane Krakowski as Nurse Apple, and Neil Patrick Harris as Hoover.
After all that, PASSION with Laura Benanti as Clara (though apparently her dream role is Fosca).
I know Sara Ramirez did it already. But she was freaking amazing and I didn't get to see it, so she should do it again just for me.

--- AMAZING, Ray!
I would LOVE to see Jane as Nurse Apple.
and, as much as I think Laura would be a FABULOUS Clara, I'm really curious about her Fosca now.
I feel Jane Krakowski is meant to play Nurse Apple, she is perfect for the role. And I can just see Meryl's "Me and My Town"...it would be incredibly funny. Oh, they would have to add "There's Always a Woman" of course, they would both nail the song.
I feel Laura Benanti's Fosca could be interesting as well, but the most obvious choice for her is Clara. After seeing her in GYPSY though I am sure that with the right director, she could be a revelation as Fosca (and she's good friends with Donna Murphy who might give her a couple useful tips).

A Little Night Music is way overdue for a revival, so thats on the top of my list. I kinda see John Doyle doing this production like he did Sweeney Todd and Company.
Then I would want to see Pacific Overtures done again, but with the orchestrations from the Original Broadway run.
I would hate to see Doyle mess with the gorgeous, lush orchestrations from A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. I also don't want to see Mme.Armfeldt sitting on a rolling cube as to suggest her wheelchair, Frederick juggling the trumpet while singing "Now," or Desiree playing the tuba while sending in the clowns. No thanks.
I rather have a Jack O'Brien, Bartlett Sher, James Lapine, or even Michael Greif direct the rumored revival.
I think the creative team of The Light in the Piazza (ie. Sher, both the designers) could do wonders with A Little Night Music at the Vivian Beaumont. I absolutely agree with whoever said Sweeney Todd with Hal Prince's direction, original sets, and Peters as Lovett. I would also love to have Passion, but I would prefer the 1 act Broadway version, not the updated London version with 2 acts.
Absolutely A Little Night Music, and a decent and deserving revival of Follies.
Well, actually, Sondheim has said that his original vision for the show was that everyone carried a specific instrument, and that because they couldn't make it work, they had to cut it, with the exception of Henrik's cello. So if any Sondheim musical was actually designed for Doyle direction, it's Night Music.
That said, I'm kinda over his style, and would like to see someone else have a go at it. The creative team of Piazza would be amazing with this! Great suggestion, musicalfan!!
A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC I think would be the best choice... and PLEASE let John Doyle stay FAR AWAY from it *lol* I loved ST and COMPANY, but enough is enough is enough.
Isn't there serious talk of WEST SIDE STORY?

A Little Night Music (but it would need the full orchestra).

If you didn't get to see it, how do you know she was freaking amazing? Just wondering.
I would love a Merrily revival.
A Little Night Music...please?
Passion and Follies
a little night music
sweeney todd (with a full chorus and orchestra like it orginaly opened with)
Night Music with Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline.
After the recent revivals and Ravinia concerts, I'm a little burned out on Sondheim, but I would have to say Merrily or Night Music.
Maybe some of his buried stuff. Pre-Saturday, or never produced. Like that thing that was to be Passion's Act 1.
P.S. BWW was hacked.

Definitely A Little Night Music. Seeing the original cast on Broadway was one of the highlights of my early Broadway showgoing years. It is ridiculous that it is hasn't been revived. So many great parts - such a lovely score and with such an enjoyable book. Is this show deemed too unlikely to show a profit to risk a production?

Absolutely agree God save us from any more John Doyle Sondheim.
Broadway deserves JUDI DENCH for a run in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC.... She was BLISS in London though might be a bit old now!
West Side Story! He was always such a good lyricist!
Seriously, Saturday Night would be good. Up the tempos, great costumes, it could be current. It could be a great, little low-budget show.
BRING BACK A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC!
And I think they need to cast Sara Ramirez as Petra.
You can actually see her The Miller's Son if you look hard enough and it is pretty wow!
I think they should do a BIG lush revivial. Bring it to the New Amersdam or something....
Ramirez' "Miller's Son" is stunning, I have never heard anyone sing the sh*t out of the role like Ramirez does, and her acting of the song is out of the world, and this is merely from video, I can't imagine how she would be live.
Having said that, she is a Tony winner with a beefy role in one of the most popular TV dramas right now, so when she does return to Broadway it won't be in a secondary role like Petra.
