"Well, actually, Sondheim has said that his original vision for the show was that everyone carried a specific instrument, and that because they couldn't make it work, they had to cut it, with the exception of Henrik's cello. So if any Sondheim musical was actually designed for Doyle direction, it's Night Music."
I really hope that wasn't true. I don't see how A Little Night Music could be stripped of it's gorgeous orchestrations like that. It wouldn't be nearly as wonderful.
I agree that A Little Night Music needs to be revived. It needs a talented design crew, a lush orchestra, and a magnificent Desiree.
A Little Night Music
Follies.
Passion
Hmm. I see a trend, here.
I'm sure I must be the most redundant person on the planet for saying this, but "A Little Night Music"!

A litte Night's Music, Merrily, Company, Sweeny Todd are all shows I've wanted to see revived, so look what's left...
I hear/read so much about Merrily We Roll Along, both good things and awful things, that this has to be the show that gets my vote so that I can finally see it and make up my own mind.
ashley0139, there is a clip of Sara singing "Millers Son" on youtube.
Passion with Donna Lynne Champlin as Fosca...at least in concert...I would love to see her Fosca. I would also kill to see Meryl Streep as Fosca. What...it could happen. In my dreams...
