Just curious to know what everyone's listening to this week. We do this on my opera board, and I thought it would be fun to do it here.

Today: The Scarlet Pimpernel. I am Pimpernel obsessed. I've been listening to it non-stop. I did, however, manage to sneak a listen of the rival cast of Man of La Mancha.

Tuesday: The Secret Garden (London) and Taboo (Broadway).

Monday: The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Secret Garden (Broadway), and The Witches of Eastwick.

Tomorrow: I have the following CDs ready to head off to work with me: Jerry Springer, !Hero, The Wild Party (LaChiusa), Breakfast at Tiffany's, and The Scarlet Pimpernel. Whether I listen to any of these except Pimpernel remains to be seen.

Well, yesterday the Stephanie J. Block recording of "Never Never Land" was on heavy rotation. Today its been more "Aspects of Love" (As I fall back in love with Michael Ball)....who knows what tomorrow will bring?:)

I love Aspects of Love and Michael Ball. A friend of mine, who is from England, always makes fun of me for liking Michael Ball. When we were camping, we were listening to my iPod (each of us had a ear phone) and I said, "Oh, you've got to hear this song" and Love Changes Everything started and she burst out laughing. When ever she sees me she says, "of into the world we go." I LOVE that show though..it's ALW's best - BY FAR!

I got The Wild Party (LaChiusa), Of Thee I Sing/Let Them Eat Cake, and the Dreamgirls concert recordings from the library the other day, so I've been trying to listen to those when I can. I've probably listened to more of the first two than the rest so far, though.

heh. "Civilian" has taken over my life. And it hasn't let go.

This week is a RENT week; something's made me really want to hear it, even though I haven't had it on much lately. AIDA right now... same thing. Last week I pulled up some old friends; Taboo London and Millie.

I rarely listen to broadway music, and when I do, it's always either:

Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Rent
tick, tick...BOOM!
The Last 5 Years
Taboo
Sunday in the Park with George

This week I've mostly been listening to The Scissor Sisters, Franz Ferdinand, Britney, and the Garden State soundtrack, as always.

This week Ive started my pre-finals preparations, so a bit of studying is in order and I've been out my classical/instrumental tracks. It's easier for me to concentrate when the music has no vocals and lyrics to think about.

Right now I've been hitting up "Phantom's" movie sountrack recording and "Rent." Must be the impending movies that are getting me into those moods. Plus, "Rent's" my December show. Speaking of which...

January - "Parade"
February - "The Last 5 Years"
March - "Gypsy"
April - "Songs for a New World"
May - "Movin' Out"
June - "Merrily We Roll Along"
July - "Pippin"
August - "Carline" or "Change"
September - "Into the Woods"
October - "Phantom of the Opera" / "Sweeney Todd"
November - "Les Miserables"
December - "Rent"

Those are based on what I typically listen to the most during those months and the corisponding moods I get when I think of the month and show.

Yes, I am single. Why do you ask? Ooohhhh.....!

I've been listening to my Varese Sarabande Broadway Christmas Album a lot (mostly rotating "Hard Candy Christmas" and "Be a Santa"). I was on a "Sweet Charity" kick but that's been fading...I've also been on a "New Brain" kick too, mostly because I can't wait for William Finn's show in January. I think it's time to break out some "Mame" and "She Loves Me" to celebrate the season.
