re: What are you working on?

Well it's not MUSICAL or PLAY, but I was just cast in a new opera with Libretto by Toni Morrison called Margaret Garner. It's the story of beloved and it's starring Denyce Graves and directed by Kenny Leon (A Rasin in the sun revival). It'll be at the Philadelphia Opera Company for anyone who's around. I'm currently getting my voice together to try and sing this. In the meantime I'm playing classes, doing transcriptions, and auditioning for yet another production of Songs for a New World (I swore I'd never do that show again).

Moby Dick the musical is cool. Look on MTI's website there is information on the show there. I hvae the SOUNDTRACK to it, both the original and the Concept Recording. Cameron Macintosh produced it in the early 90's.

Jazzysuite82, is that opera based on Beloved? That is really interesting, are they gonna take it anywhere else or it's only in Philadelphia?

Broadway_Bound, I know what you mean. I'm a freshman playing Titus, and I'm also one of the shortest people in the cast. And I'm 5'7", which is above average for a female. It's just amusingly odd having my big entrance amongst my sons and my prisoners with all of them towering over me.

I'm choreographing and playing Young Scrooge in a tour of the musical A CHRISTMAS CAROL adapted and starring Ira David Wood III. This will be the shows 31st year and we have a cast total of 82! Yes, that is correct I said 82! Now you know why I'm not on here as much as I used to be!

Rayandallthatjazz86, yes it's based on the story of Beloved and Philadelphia is the last stop. It was a sister production with Detroit and Cinccinati(sp) Operas. I can't imagine it just going away though. It's a brand new work so they're probably gonna continue revisions and then take it someplace else. Maybe the Met, I dunno.
