I like her better here than I ever did on the MTV show. She seems less ditzy and much more polished. I'm surprised.
My only doubt is this: I really doubt that she never saw Legally Blonde before doing this audition. I'll bet she saw the MTV airing. She admits to being someone who copies every gesture of performers (e.g., Judy Garland), so I'll bet she did with Elle too.
Still...I was one of her worst critics and she's kind of growing on me.

I agree. I think shes done alot of growing up since the show.
I don't like the way she compares herself to Elle - I mean, normally I didn't mind it but in this video I thought she like brought out the wrong message that Elle conveys by comparing herself to her
I think it's odd that she claims to be such a method actor (throwing herself completely into character) and that she once cut her hair and died it red to play Annie, yet she cried when they cut a few dead ends on the reality show???
Poor memory or sneaky editing? Now I'm not sure.
I have yet to watch it - do these videos take FOREVER to load on anybody else's computer? it's been loading for about ten minutes now and is about 20% done, and I am on a Broadband connection with all other sites running smoothly. All BWW videos simply take forever! Any reason for this?
I just watched the first question or two, and I already can tell she's grown up a lot since the show. She and I are very close in age, same birth year, so I enjoy watching her succeed.

I thought she was very very cute in this. I hated that she copied judy garland for her role as dorothy but at least she tried to cover it up with "the director wanted more of a judy garland..." She's grown on me alot, but LBB will still be my elle of choice.
Buy more memory for your computer and it will load faster. Or get a faster machine if it's older. BWW TV is streaming video - which means it should start and play instantly when you click on it, if (1) you have a fast machine (2) you have enough memory and (3) you aren't downloading something with a torrent program or using a resources hog like Copernic.
The reason for more memory is simle. Imagine the internet (or any computer program) is a 10 foot by 10 foot map and you try to spread it out on a 4 foot by 4 foot table. Large portions of the map will be "off the table" and every time you want to reference them, you have to drag that map section onto the table. BUT if yo had a 8 foot by 8 foot table (ie you bought more memory) more of the map would be available on the table at any given time.
Ypu shpould also check into maximizing your cache (clean out the junk) and have the most up-to-date harddrive (ie the fastest).
All of these things can affect download speed - and of course the big mama - get DSL instead of dialup.
That's just the thing - I am on a beautiful [relatively] new Macbook Pro, using broadband. I think my computer has some weird reaction to the BWW site, because I even just went to two other sites - Broadway.com and Apple Movie Trailers - and viewed large video files instantly without a problem.
Well, whatever. Just wondering if others had the same problem.
I think now that she has the role she can kind of loosen up a little. I've liked her the entire time, she seems like a very true person and very nice.
Honestly, my favorite part of the video was when she said she saw the second preview of [title of show].
Having watched similar videos (some also taped on the same day at Sardi's) on other Broadway websites, I give Bailey lots of credit for having already learned how to cope with consecutive rounds of interviews during which she is more or less asked the same questions repeatedly, and yet is able to maintain her charm, energy, and enthusiasm as if she has never heard these questions before. I am reminded of Tommy French's line in "Smile" when he watches from the wings as a novice performer skillfully handles a challenging situation and remarks, "They learn fast!"

I wasn't real keen about her from watching the reality show, but after that interview I'm definitely warming up to her.
"I like her better here than I ever did on the MTV show. She seems less ditzy and much more polished. I'm surprised."
Why so surprised? MTV's editing made her look much different than she actually is in that interview.
I agree that she's grown up as well. I really enjoyed all of the post-MTV show interviews of her. She's really gotten to show her true colors through talking one on one.
I liked the interview. I hope to see her in the role someday!
I want her to be successful. Anyone else think shes got a chance with other Broadway gigs?
I too hope she is successful. I only watched the last 3 episodes of the reality show and like her better after this interview. But Elle is her dream. I don't recall her saying she wants to be a Broadway actress (Unless she said this early on in the show). She has not seen a Broadway show. OK, maybe she was not able to. But her gushing over LuPone just seemed a bit off to me as she has only seen her in Gypsy. But she won, she is Elle, and we will see what happens after her run is over.
Love this girl! I rooted for her on the show, and am so glad she won. She makes me want to see this show again.
Bailey is sooo awesome!!! I'm dyiiing to see dis show... I kinda still miss LBB thou. She waz phenomenal :)

Millie_Dillmount,
Of course, I'm not surprised that a reality show is edited to make people look bad. However, I doubt they wanted to make their winner look too, too terrible, so they probably were pretty gentle with the editing. I do think she's probably grown up a bit since the show, and as others have said, now that she won, she can relax in the role.

I think Bailey is well on her way to a successful Broadway career if she continues to do well and improve even more in LB, although I worry about her being typecast as Elle Woods or other "blonde" roles. Even if Broadway doesn't work out after this role, I see her definitely getting work in TV and film.
I had no desire to see this show prior. I am NOT a Laura Bell Bundy fan in any capacity.
But Bailey was one of my top two choices from the beginning.
I would definitely see it now.
bwaybaby42, I am going to assume (or at least hope) that you are more intelligent than your grammar and spelling portray. Try and "dress for success" and you'll be amazed at the positive response.

I didn't even think she was really all that ditzy and immature to begin with. Although she made quite a few ditzy comments, I am sure it was a result of MTV's "wonderful" editing. All the girls were being catty and making dumb comments at some point. They didn't really single Bailey out as the ditzy one, so she didn't really come across as the terrible one.
Off-topic, in my opinion, Cassie S. seemed like the "most terrible," and even Autumn mentioned in a blog that things weren't as bad as they seemed.
