What happened to the Death Becomes Her musical?

In December 2017 Universal announced that they were developing a Death Becomes Her musical with Kirstin Chenoweth but there have been no news since.

Is there any insider info on this? Has it been scrapped?

it’s one of my favorite movies and I think it would lend itself well to a Broadway adaptation, so I’m kinda bummed nothing has materialized yet

This was one of half a dozen musicals Cheno said she was doing. When she announces or hints at a musical she’s doing, I immediately know it’ll never happen.

It’s been delayed due to Chenoweth’s attachment to 34 other musical adaptations and bio musicals in development.

It’ll play in rep with “Soapdish”, her Marlene Dietrich musical and whatever that country western show she said she was working on.

I hate that there were even multiple musicals about that woman in development, but Cheno HAS to be the top choice if Elton's transfers, right? I mean it's perfect casting.
