My thoughts exactly. I've never seen so many over obsessive posts in my life.

We'll be like Red Sox fans after the team finally won. Happy but wandering around wondering what's next.
I see it getting worse...with new fans asking newbie questions...
"My thoughts exactly. I've never seen so many over obsessive posts in my life."
hehe haven't you ever seen your own posts about Sweet Charity?
Are u kidding? TOOOOOONNNS of personal reviews and opinions!!!!!!!
The world explodes, of course.
i see the obsession moving toward the Dreamgirls film, with posts like ---
"OMG, 'tasia was robbed"/"They're filming today at _____, let's go watch"/"525,600 minutes until the dreamgirls movie is out"/"so & so went to a screening, here's their review", etc

two things....
1) Some move on to high hopes for awards shows, other start planning the dvd.
2)new fans.. "has anyone ever seen rent live on stage?" "what is the show like" "why is seasons of love in the middle of the play and not in the beginning like in the movie" etc...
and once this all dies out its dreamgirls time.

So you're basically all predicting the apocalypse, am I right?
I'm not saying that it's not cool to be excited about the movie. I am saying that I'm going to scream soon because Rent movie posts have become exactly like the Wicked posts. Can't we talk about plays or something else? Please?
A few weeks after Rent comes out, there's the Chicago special edition DVD, then The Producers. Threads on Rent will still be numerous, reach their peak around February as people fight over what Oscar nominations it will or won't get, and then die out until the spring DVD release.
They're Producers madness to look forward to as well...
Edit: Oooh beat me to it,anyway I rather like the Rent circus, its amusing...
Umm Blucat.
How could you ever compare my discussion of SWEET CHARITY to the obsessive posts of Rent fans?
There is no comparison. I've seen the show twice, not 350,0000,000 times. CHARITY dosen't even have any obsessive fans (thankfully.)
I have not made as many Charity posts as the Renthead's had made. There are so many Rent threads, just like Wicked threads used to be.
So try to find 5 posts I've made ABOUT Charity in the past month. You seem to have some time on your hands, so do some research first before you start making such assumptions.

Well fo course, they'll be the obsessions over:
The Grosses for the film
Awards Season
Rent being snubbed for certain awards
The Dvd Release
The Reunion Concert
How expensive the Reunion Concert is
The Reunion Concert not being videotaped
etc etc etc
It isn't going to end anytime soon.

By the way, if you go to movies.com you can see almost the whole movie. They have like a dozen clips!
Those clips don't even touch some of the best moments. There are still plenty of surprises!

Ooo, good, now we can dissect each one of them separately!
I think BobbyBuddy has it about right
then The Producers and Dreamgirls will follow in suit
But I, as a Renthead, shall personally make the promise not to start any of my own Rent threads and stick solely to posting on those already created
truce?
Well I admit it was a snarky comment but not without truth...type your name and sweet charity in the search...you have more than 5 posts mentioning charity just in the last week...
Maybe we'll get some ProducersHeads.
I don't think THE PRODUCERS will be like this.
It dosen't have the huge teen fanbase. Like Rent, Wicked, etc.
I AM a Renthead and all these posts are driving even me nuts. People, THE SEARCH BUTTON IS YOUR FRIEND!!!! It's getting to a point where I'm about to ask Craig to start a whole board just for Rent so that we can avoid it if we have to. I admit to having contributed to existing threads, but some of the new ones being started are unnecessary reruns.
All I know is, I'm staying away from the boards for a few days afterwards.
I love RENT, too, but how many posts about Adam Pascal's hair are truly necessary?
