I know many girls who have played Audrey II, I guess that it just depends on the Director, and what they want.

Hells yeah. I must admit that I was just kinda imitating the CD but the director's were most impressed (I learned later) which the complete transformation in my voice that I could be a fiesty cockney lady to big black man (basically). I've heard another girl do it before, I mean hey, may the best person win! If you can't see 'em it doesn't hurt. Anyway in the movie they say Mean Green MOTHER from outer space...what up wit dat?
edit: PLUS I LOVE when people break stereotypes with that show. The damn movie makes it very hard for anyone that DOESN'T look like the movie actors or sound like them to make the part their own. Everyone wants to see little blond Ellen Greene (who is the ultimate audrey no messin') and greaser Steve Martin in the production. Sorry just had to get that off my chest while I'm on the subject.
