Dress Circle (also known as Royal Circle) is the British expression for mezzanine. The balcony is referred to as either the Upper Circle or Grand Circle in the UK. Hope that helps
And while we're at it... the orchestra is called the stalls.

It's the first tier above the orchestra -- usually the best seats in the house (if you don't like orchestra seats, that is). The term is almost always used in a 3+ tier theatre: Orchestra-Dress Circle-Balcony (or Orchestra-Dress Circle-Mezzanine).
And while we're at it, in the UK you may occasionally hear the top level of seating (the balcony) referred to as 'the Gods'. Is this ever used in the US?
