Millie isnt going anywhere. People are going to be excited when Susan Egan comes in- I give in at least until the fall.
The Producers??
Not as long as they got Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane.
Let the Winter run its course- just because sales are low doesnt mean they will make the decision to close. They have to think about the spring sales and about how many actors and theatre crew they will put out of work.

Hmmm Princess, you just summed up everything I was trying to say. This message board is devoted to OPINION. That's your opinion that you've just stated, and that's my opinion that I stated before. It is also my opinion that, maybe, just maybe, you might grow to love Bare more than RENT. Just a thought. I too thought that I could never love anything other than RENT. And then I saw Les Miserables for the first time. And then I saw Sweeney Todd. And then I saw Jekyll and Hyde. I know it's possible to love something SO much, but love something else equally. It's like having more than one best friend. I dunno, that's my moment in the soapbox spotlight. By the way... I am SO sorry for being so rude to you yesterday. It's just, well, I think you know? Anyway, please accept my apology. It's from the bottom of my heart!

Look what you people did.... You mention Anna often enough and it announces its closing date. For shame.

Anna was a well-crafted drama, however even I felt that it dragged a bit in some places. I saw it in a half-empty house in December, and it seemed to struggle to hold audiences' attention and gain popularity.

Pity about Retreat From Moscow, that was one of my favourite plays in the past few seasons.

Strangely, I don't think us talking about Anna in the Tropics too much caused it to close.

I've lost count. How many closed shows are we at now? Cabaret, Urinetown, Never Gonna Dance, Taboo, Gypsy, Anna...what am I forgetting?

bernadette are you retarded? Avenue Q is in a small theatre(800 seats) and the tickets are cheaper than most(they are currently 60-90 dollars). It makes $400,000(minimum) a week filling the theatre to 90% capacity.
While big plays in huge theatres like Wicked in the Gershwin(1900 seats) on a good week makes a million plus. There is a 1,100 seat difference!

Therefore avenue q is a fair success

The Shubert is one of the bigger theatres on broadway and it's more difficult to fill. Gypsy has been on TKTS since previews began. I said it when it opened, and I'll say it again now: They should have kept Chicago at the Shubert and opened Gypsy at the Ambassador. I don't have a doubt in my mind that Gypsy would be staying open if playing to a smaller house. However, the producers of both Chicago and Gypsy felt it would be wiser to move Chicago (which was *not* filling the Shubert to capacity at the time, but COULD fill it to capacity now) to a smaller house and let Gypsy open at "The Legendary Shubert Theatre." Guess they're kinda kicking themselves now -- Gypsy never did nearly as well as they'd hoped in the ticket sales.

Does anyone know if the Shubert is contracted for anything else after Gypsy? To the best of my knowledge it's not... I can always find out Friday when I see my friend who works there, but I'm too impatient lol.
