While on the subject of bootleg recording -
I was always curios about one thing - I know that there are videos of shows from the 1960's and 70's and since video recording at the time were very big and noticeable I presume that ushers and front house managers were aware to the fact hat someone is filming the show?
So I assume that there was a time wheb it was allowed to some extant? (correct me if I'm wrong)
It something I was always curios about, if something has changed over the years about the treatment to bootleggers.

Inigomontoya, while it definitely wasn't ever allowed, there might not have been set rules about it because it was such a rare occurrence.
I believe a lot of footage from that era was done by cast members of rehearsals and things like that, rather than audience members filming parts of live performances like we have today. A lot of audio bootlegs from that era come from soundboards, which means that someone related to the production had to get them and start circulating them.
