ITW...well, it's not a sexually charged line, but the exchange between the Prince and Baker's wife cracks me up every time I watch it.
I agree racerchiquita, that part is strangely funny. LOL "I must leave you."
And then in bed, George
I mean he kneads me-
I mean like dough, George
"poppin' pussies into pies" - sweeney :)
"Well Helloooo Little Boy..." - Carol Burnett
Unhappiness can be seductive... - Clara
Kerry O'Malley is the reason this line is sexually charged. No other Baker's Wife said it this way:
(after they make out or
Cinderella's Prince: There's a Giant on the loose...
Baker's Wife: Oh...The Giant...hee hee
I love your eyes, George.
I love your beard, George.
I love your size, George.

I think that combined
"I had a dream...
...He'll walk in hot and tired...
...Lucy wants to be juicy..
...Watching little things grow..."
has the makings of rather nice little scenette.
Can you think of other Sondheim lyrics which combined create sexual tension?
Hey, why not?
I choose not to do belabor that kind of thing -- looking for innuendo everywhere -- and prefer to just let the lyrics speak on their own accord.
'Till I'm with you then I'm with you there,
Buried sweetly in your yellow hair~SWEENEY TODD
She lays her arms down
Welcoming defeat

"When he said, "Come in!"
With that sickening grin,
How could I know what was in store?
Once his teeth were bared,
Though, I really got scared-
Well, excited and scared-
But he drew me close
And he swallowed me down,
Down a dark slimy path
Where lie secrets that I never want to know"
"UNhappiness can be seductive"
"Your skin your silken hair your breasts your lips I want you every minute of my life"
"You feel so good as if you'd never been away"
"to feel your touch again...you've never been away"
"All this happiness being here with you in the dark"
PASSION...ahh I love it
NuggetMonkeys stole my answer.
Pritty lady with the flower, give a lonely sailor alf and our.
'Ey, oy, sailor boy
Want it snuggly harbored?
Open the gate, but don't be late
I see it lists to starboard!
Just so you know Priest I heard that same rumor regarding the sexual innuendos of Johannas song and this was Sondheims response to a letter I sent him:
The line in "Johanna" is not meant to have sexual innuendo - I only meant the image of Anthony lying next to Johanna with his head against hers.
Did Sondheim really intend on the whole "poppin pussies into pies etc" in PRIEST to have a sexual double meaning? (I love that part.)
Or was he JUST meaning Mrs. Mooney was poppin those cats into pies?

Ljay, I've never interpreted that line as having a sexual connotation... that doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't written to have one, but I never picked up on it, if it was.

More of a verse than a line (from Anyone Can Whistle):
I like your-How you say? Imperturbable perspicacity.
It isn't how you say, it's what you see!
We have ze lark, yes? Ze fling, yes?
Ze play is ze-How you say? -Is the thing, yes?
If you will play wiz me,
Mon cheri,
Though we may not agree

Ditto moljul:
"And then in bed, George
I mean he kneads me-
I mean like dough, George"
Love it!
And I never found A Little Priest sexy until I saw the revival. So that entire song as well.
