Posted: 7/22/08 at 12:35pmHe was in the ensemble. He never had a starring role. He's not a casting director or writer of the musical. Why him? Why not anyone else from the company, like Kate Shindle or Christian Borle who are LEADS?

Posted: 7/22/08 at 12:38pmI sense that he has a better idea of the physical demands of the show since he is in the chorus and probably works harder than some of the supporting players. He also has some pretty extensive credits, is friends with LBB and teaches theatre camps with her, so he knows how to work with performers. Plus, he adds an obviously gay element that all shows seems to want to exploit nowadays. Dont all shows need a snapping queen to call the contestants "girlfriend" and tell them to "work it."

You're asking a serious question for a silly show. The only qualification needed was what the producers thought would make compelling television and they felt that he brought enough to the show to put him on.
Not to discount WAT's comment. :)
