Seems it's been a while since they recorded it. Hope it doesn't fall through. Anyone have news on a release date?
The record companies (GHOSTLIGHT, PS CLASSICS et al.) seem to take quite a few months to release cast recordings. I assume because it's not a very profitable enterprise they don't have many staff so the recordings are being worked on serially...they also have Pipe Dream, 35mm and Queen of the Mist being worked on. Queen of the Mist was recorded in January and is only just being released..
It's worrying me a little bit. I figured we'd at least have artwork and a track list by now. It better not end up in cast recording limbo!
Dos anyon know if CARRIE is coming to London? - If it is, is it worth seeing? (All opinions welcomed)

met a couple of the cast members at an audition a few weeks ago. They said that it could be anywhere from "4 weeks to 4 months." Hoping sooner rather than later but it is coming.
I think it's safe to say it will be released--the title, whether one likes it or not, has more name recognition than many of the CDs of shows they are releasing, (including Queen of the Mist which I can't wait to hear), and would probably sell at least a handful more copies on that alone.
I do see that Mist "was made possible with generous support from The Shen Family Foundation" (I believe they funded one or two other LaChiusa recordings).
They are shooting for a fall/Christmas release.
Really? lol.

Why would anyone want a Carrie CD for Christmas?
Its going to be a late fall release, probably tied into Halloween/Autumn. Makes sense.
Halloween makes sense, but it's annoying when we know there have been times when they've previously shipped pre-orders 6 to 8 weeks after the recording date.
Indeed. The new Sweeney Todd recording was particularly fast..it was recorded in late February and available in the theatre about three-four weeks later. But whatever, I assume there are financial/practical reasons for this, I doubt they'd be unnecessarily delaying the release for the sake of it.
Well, as of right now it is due to be released on August 1st. Whether that is digitally or in-stores, I'm not sure.
^Aren't new releases usually on a Tuesday? August 1st is a Wednesday.
Typically, yes, they are released on Tuesdays, but on this site, it lists Carrie's release date to be 8/1/2012.
Patience dear friends. Ghostlight has never listed a cd and then not released it (unlike JAY). It's one of their 4 upcoming releases.
I'm sure there are a myriad of factors that need to be considered/arranged between the recording of a cd and the mass production/release of it.
People have wanted this score for decades, a few more months won't kill anyone.
Also, there will be a vocal selection coming out as well.
What?!? Who doesn't want a Carrie CD for Christmas? I do!
August 1st has been confirmed several places.
