I hope it's Nerds. The concert version at 54 Below was terrific. I know try are waiting for a theatre.
Apparently there are a bunch of shows waiting for theatres.
A great problem for Broadway to have.
A bit off topic. I hear Rock Of Ages is closing in January

Posted: 6/23/14 at 11:27pmFUN HOME would get swallowed there? I wonder... I think it's better off at the Booth, too, though.

Posted: 6/23/14 at 11:38pmYeah, I think SIDE SHOW should open closer to the Tony. Of course the choice producers of the less starry but critically acclaimed shows have to make is whether they want to open in the fall and try to survive through the season or open in the spring and face the possibility of the show getting lost in the shuffle of shows that open around that time. There's always an AVENUE Q and GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE though.

Posted: 6/24/14 at 2:04amThe real question is NEWSIES going to pull a Poppins and run past to January . . . although I suspect, as in other threads, the set will be transferred to the tour.

Posted: 6/24/14 at 5:07amJRR, Fun Home has been reported at eying Broadway but it's as much a guessing game as anything else. Also, there's a snowball's chance in hell of it pushing Book of Mormon out of the Eugene O'Neill.

Fun Home is coming in the spring from what I understand.
While the Nederlander isn't the worst choice for it, it's not the best (nor is it where I think it'll end up).
As for the Nederlander, I think it'll either be Dames at Sea or Sideshow.

Posted: 6/24/14 at 3:49pm^^^ Heathers transferring would be interesting
#37What's going into the Nederlander?
Posted: 6/24/14 at 3:51pm^^^ Given that they seem to have almost no advance sales at NWS, it seems highly unlikely. Almost the entire house is available for this Friday, with pretty generous discounts available.

Posted: 6/24/14 at 4:12pmWell i know they must be doing well enough because they just sent out a casting notice for the replacement of main parts and chorus. It defiantly plans to be a NWS for a while anyway.
#39What's going into the Nederlander?
Posted: 6/24/14 at 4:17pmThat's one interpretation. Another would be to question why, if there's a supposed chance of a transfer and the show is doing so well, is the current cast taking other jobs and not extending their contracts?
#40What's going into the Nederlander?
Posted: 6/24/14 at 4:48pmI think Fun Home belongs in a smaller theater. I don't think Heathers will transfer, it seems their advance sales aren't the greatest.

Posted: 6/24/14 at 4:52pmWhile Fun Home would work great in a small house, I also feel it would be wonderful in a house like the Nederlander. It is a pretty large production - much larger than comparable transfers like Once. The revolving stage, huge house set, etc. I think it would work really well in a house like the Nederlander.
#42What's going into the Nederlander?
Posted: 6/24/14 at 4:58pmI don't how big the stage is compared to the Public's stage, but the set seemed fine there. But, the house set is pretty large. It was just really perfect in a small theater.

Yeah, it needs a mid-size house to make any money.
Also, Off-Broadway to Broadway isn't a fair comparison. Wasn't In The Heights a huge flop off-Broaday? Now look at it. Just saying. That said, the current physical production of The Heathers is terrible. It looks cheap. There's no way that would last on Broadway, and they need a better director.

Posted: 6/24/14 at 5:37pmTransferring HEATHERS only makes sense to brand it as a BROADWAY show, but I don't feel it like makes a lot of sense giving there is not a huge buzz about the show right now - although once promoting it to a Broadway house - it might pick up the buzz.
