I mentioned in the Newsies thread, but it'd probably get lost as the discussion re: tickets, reviews, etc. get posted.
But could DAMES AT SEA (Announced for 2014) or FORUM (which is planning for Spring) be moving into the Nederlander?
Did FIDDLER announce a theatre? I cannot remember...
I believe Fiddler was coming in the 2015-2016 season.
No, FIDDLER didn't announce a theatre, but I think Danny Birstein, who was announced as being courted for Tevye is tied up with Cabaret through January.

Johnny, Are you alluding to the MUPPET'S?

No, I was talking about FIDDLER, but posted at the same time as the others.
Disney DID workshop a Muppets musical recently, right?
The Nederlander is a good size for a mid-size musical and I could see either Dames at Sea or Forum or perhaps even Can Can fitting in. Before Rent it's location so far south was considered a major factor in the theatre being a flop house. My guess is with a decent number of theatres opening up it may not get booked until the spring.
FORUM... isn't coming in until the spring. I can't see the Nederlander sitting dark all fall.
With its positive Times review, I wonder if SIDE SHOW will be part of the equation for this coming season.
If the producers of Fun Home are smart, they'll wait for Circle in the Square after The River closes. It would get swallowed up in the Nederlander.
I think Fun Home could work well in the Booth after Elephant Man.

Nederlander being open perfect time to bring back RENT!
Yes, because it's been 10 minutes since Rent was in NYC!
RENT should come back with Lena Hall playing Yitzhak playing Angel!

Well if Disney wants to keep it, and it wouldn't be book until 2015 anyway, Hunchback is premiering late this year/early next year.
I'm wondering if "Allegiance", is looking. I *think* a Nederlander House is what they were looking for after the San Diego run. Also, I'm wondering if "Dames at Sea", "Forum", possibly "Side Show" (although I doubt it), but what about "Finding Neverland" is looking for houses if the Boston/A.R.T. run goes well, it could open December/January.
There is no way Newsies would close so suddenly without them having something lined up. I would assume something is going to be announced soon.
I heard that On Your Feet, the Gloria Estefan musical is opening there.
I believe On Your Feet was slated for a 2015-2016 opening.
Keep in mind: Disney doesn't necessarily need the Nederlander specifically if they want to keep a third show open on Broadway. They have a good relationship with the Nederlander Org. and very well may be looking at one of their bigger theatres (the Palace and Marquis both could surely be open in the spring.)

Although mum was the word on the specific show, I am aware that Newsies was closing to make way for a new show in the fall. At least thats what I was told about a month or so ago.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's Side Show considering the recent transfers of Kennedy Center's Follies and Ragtime. If Newsies is closing in August, and Side Show closes at KC on 7/13, it could still load in and start previews before the end of the fall. Follies announced their transfer a few days before it closed at KC and within 2 months was able to start previews at the Marquis.
